I had been using this one forum for over a month, made all kinds of friends, everything was going great. Today I mentioned that I had clinical depression and suddely it's like I have "cooties" and noone wants anything to do with me. So predictable. I imagine it will happen here sooner or later as well as all the other forums I use. Unbelievable. My own brother has become a bitter, hateful, anti-social troll who would rather kill someone than look at them. Somehow I'm beginning to understand how he feels now.

Thank God for animals.

A lot of us here are clinically depressed, and rather than shun you, will relate to you. You can gripe about anything and rather than hearing "get over yourself" you hear "I'm sorry you are having a rough time, please keep posting" ALL THE TIME!! I know I really don't have much right to speak for others, but I promise that I will never EVER think any less of you for feeling bad/sad/crippled with depression. Have some faith in us!

greygoose,

as far as i'm concerned, i say what i think. i've never thought of saying something unkind to someone who's feeling bad. i hope you soon will know that most of us here are that way...accepting.

hoping you're feeling better soon It just happened again

(((((((ALL OF YOU))))))

Thank's for putting a smile on my face and for ACCEPTING me just the way I am:-). I guess you have to have walked a mile in a person's shoes before you can fully appreciate what that person goes through. This is a pretty unique forum where people do seem to genuinely understand and relate to other people which is great!!.

people on this forum, and on the board in general, are caring, understanding and compassionate with regards to depression. many of us have gone through/ are going through it ourselves. nobody here would look down on you because you have depression. many of us understand what it is like. i hope you can trust us here and can find the support you want from here too.

sorry about your input from the other site's forum. there are a lot of places out there to get hurt at --many ppl saying oh I'm so sad... but they haven't a clue what major depression is!

We do understand grey. We all do on this forum. This deep dark swirling mass that pulls us in and down, refusing to allows us much of a chance to get our head up much less a chance to see daylight at the top....

Those who live in glass houses, should never throw stones, so you should be safe here. After twelve trips to the mental health unit, God knows I will not be doing any shunning. We have all been on the receiving end though, even if we did not know it, and the only thing I can say is ignorance breeds ignorance. There are a lot of people who don't want to know that we suffer from an ILLNESS, not a weakness. The way my first counselor made me feel better about all the "stupid" people out there, is to tell me "The reason they are so rude about it, is because they are scared of it. They are one sneeze away from being in the same shoes, and it scares the hell out of them." WE ARE THE STRONG ONES, BECAUSE WE ARE SEEKING HELP!!!!
