A puppy I just got now has parvo, I guess she had it when I got her, now she is in the hospital and has a chance of about 75% to make it. I had a 3 and 4 year old with me at the vet that were driving me crazy. I was crying the whole time and even now I am crying off and on. I have to watch all my dogs for symptoms and disinfect my entire house when in reality all I want to do is lay in bed and cry right now.
I am just so depressed, I don't know any other to explain what I am feeling at this point, I keep hoping that this is just a really bad nightmare and I will wake up anytime now but I know that just isnt reality.
I am having a hard time dealing with my kids so my wonderful hubby is helping but I just feel like a bad mother, a bad wife, a bad pet owner, and an over all bad person.

(((((((( gimmeice )))))))) You are a wonderful caring person, otherwise you wouldn't have got so upset about things that happened today.

Thinking of you.

If we were really, really honest with ourselves..and received the perfection we prayed for...we would be bored to death...

That little puppy along with all those who are Graced to have you in their lives...like us for instance,,,are filled with gratitude that you have experienced some suffering...

That allows you to be compassionate to ours...

This too shall pass gimmiece...keep your head where your feet are...and soon the smiles and wagging tail will return..

Always,

Lenny

(((( gimmeice )))) You've always been so kind to me. I'd never believe for one second that you are a bad person... especially not a bad mother. My kids drive me bonkers sometimes, too. You're not a bad pet owner... you took the little puppy to the vet. And, you can't be a bad wife to have such a wonderful hubby. Just take a few minutes to breathe and let yourself be. Sometimes we just need a little time to re-group and get our heads on straight. You aren't bad. You're human. Please try to be good to yourself... you deserve it.

(((((((((gimmeice)))))))) You are putting too much blame on yourself. As a mother of a 16 and 14 year old, as much as I loved it when my kids were the age of yours, I don't miss it in stressful situations. Kids don't understand that moms are human too, they don't understand stress. Of course you got irritated and frustrated--you were sad and stressed and have a full plate! Thank god you have a husband who will let you be sad for a bit and help out. Take that time. You need it. Don't do any thinking about what needs done, just relax. Recharge. Then tackle the things you have to do. Make sure you leave "beat myself up" off that list of things to do! You are so compassionate and caring. I think you could only be called "bad" in the slang form, as in "You are one bad (meaning good) person".

((((((((( capp )))))))))) thank you I will try not to beat myself up to much

(((((((((((( manda86 )))))))) Thank you for the hugs they always make me feel better.

((((( Lenny )))))) Thank you I can't wait to see her wagging tail again, you are so kind to me.

((((((((((( snowflakes ))))))))) thank you for the hugs they are much appreciated at this time.

(((((((((( mentalpollution )))))))))) Thank you for your kind words, I tend to blame myself for all the problems in the world. I am really trying good self care, reaching out to others isn't easy for me so just posting this was helpful.

((((((((((( cantstopcrying )))))))))) Thank you, I just feel so bad when I lose patience with the kids but I did take steps as to not take it out on them so you are right I can't be too bad.

You have all made me feel much better, I am still worried but I think that is to be expected with my puppy in the hospital.. I don't know what I would do without all of you here, I don't start many threads but just reading others posts are so helpful to me.

I am sorry to report that the puppy has passed away, I just recieved the call to let me know. I am feeling kind of numb about this right now, I will be busy most of today ensuring that my other dogs are protected against this virus, hopefully they dont get it because vaccinations don't completely protect them.
I am still looking forward to taking the kids trick or treating because life must go on. Tomorrow night I have a babysitter for all the kids and I am going camping, I think it may help to get away. I would like to thank everyone one for their support, that is what I am leaning on right now.

(((( gimmeice )))) I'm so sorry about the puppy. Losing a pet is so hard. I hope you are able to enjoy the night trick or treating with your kids.

((((((((((( mental pollution )))))))))) Thank you, I think the trick or treating may help the kids get through this too. I haven't told them yet because some of them are in school.

take a deep breath and try to relax . i know it is easier said than done. i too had a puppy with parvo who had to stay at the vets clinic for a week for treatment. the puppy is now 12 years ago and that happened when he was close to a year. i too had a very supportive husband . the thing is to try to think positive r/e the doggies progress and put him in gods hands and the vets. good luck, ana ruiz

(((((((((( pachyderm ))))))))))))))) The puppy is at peace now, she had a hard life before I got her, I tried to show her love and compassion in my short time with her. I am trying to keep that thought close to my heart.
