I'm inbetween a rock and a hard place. I think?? I just can't see how it's all that bad, but then I think it is. I'm to the point where I just want to stay asleep. It's to much to handle being awake. Come to the point where when I wake up I just take another sleeping pill to go back to sleep. It's to painful and I can't deal with the outside world. It's quiet and tolerable to just stay sleeping. So is it bad??? It gets me through. I still go to work and do my job. But as soon as I walk in the door in the afternoon I'm ready to climb back into bed. I'm just concerned about taking so many sleeping pills. But I can't tolerate being awake anymore.

I am so sorry, I also have the same habits and features. It seems that life can wear us out. Try to get yourself out if you can. I HAD to go to dinner for an 84 year old friend's birthday. Hubby and daughter and a friend went. It was fun. So sometimes if we can make ourselves do it it helps to break the cycle.

((((((((((((((((monty))))))))))))))))))) I understand that need for escape. The sleeping pills make me nervous though. I hope you will talk to t about them. But, it's 4:30 am and I am awake, sleeping pills don't seem like a bad idea sometimes. But, I would worry about addiction..

wantto, I'll put it here whilst I remember, the herb valerian is used for insomnia and also helps with anxiety too, so maybe you could look into it?

T has said no more sleeping pills. So I've had 3 hours of sleep last night. I spent the night shaking and clinching my teeth till my jaws hurt. I just want rest. Is that to much to ask for?

Hi Monty --
I am sorry you are having trouble sleeping. I do, too. For example, I only got about 4 hours sleep last night. Here are some things I've used -- melatonin -- for a while, put me soundly to sleep at first, but then I'd wake up jittery warm milk, or warm milk with honey -- I loved this! Didn't always put me to sleep but tasted great. Now I'm lactose intolerant. l-trytophane -- I abused this natural substance and wound up in treatment . . . something illegal drugs and booze never did. However, it was because a large dose irritated my colitis and had me doubled over with pain, not bec. it put me to sleep. In fact, bec. of the pain, it was just the opposite. chamomile -- my herb of choice. Other hints are to always go to bed and wake up at the same time, use the bed only for sleep, not reading, watching TV, talking on the phone, etc., so the mind associates "bed" only with "sleep." Exercise in the evening -- that used to work great for me but I haven't been exercising. If I ever start again, it is a great way to get myself tuckered out to sleep. I also use a white noise machine. The sound of waves pulls down into a deep sleep - - I have even slept through an alarm for as long as 20 minutes with the waves going . . . Hope you find aids that help you . .
