A few times each day, I seem to be in one place and the next thing I know, I'm somewhere else. I remember where I was at the start, and I have no idea when I got to where I was.

Many times, a few hours per day, I will just hear classical piano music and nobody else will hear it. I have never heard that specific music nor do I recall ever searching for classical piano music.

Four days ago, someone who I have never met before approached me, and when I asked who they were, they just said that we met the prior day and that I was very polite while conversing(Two things that I normally would not do). They also commented that my style of walking had changed since the prior day.

Do I have a dissociative disorder? If so, which one? If not, then what could I have?

Hi Sargonic,
A dissociative disorder is possible but so are a number of other things, based on just what you described I could think of about 10 diagnosis off hand that could fit, both medical issues or mental health issues and I am sure there are possiblities than just what I can think of off hand. Are you seeing a T? If not I would go to one asap. Have you been to your family Dr recently for a full checkup? If not, I would do that asap as well. Hope you can get some help.
Hugs,
P

Well, from a mental health stand point this does have some of the hallmark symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder. This being said, I would highly suggest making an appointment with your doctor and going in and getting a work up.

I agree with one of the previous posters that said that this could be a medical issue as well. You should get a check-up and have your blood checked as well to make sure all is well. Discuss this symptomology with your doctor and if you don't have a psychologist already I would request to see one. A psychologist can give you an appropriate interview and do some diagnostic testing to rule out or in a dissociative disorder. But you also need to rule out or in any medical issues that may be causing this as well.

Keep us posted if you like and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Good luck to you!!

i would not try to diagnose urself...but go ta the dr...get a work up...an then see if it is physical or psychological...there r many things that can mimic DID, even some physical maladies...an i would b remiss if i din tell u ta not try ta diagnose urself...none of us is a psychologist nor can we tell u up front that u r or u rnt...but we can only make suggestions ta see u get the help u need...whether or not it is from a physical or emotional problem...
