feel so lost and alone w/our DID right now.

Confusion, whirling in my head like a cyclone.
Loneliness, stranding me like a ship on an angry sea.
Shame, branding me like a scarlet letter.
Anger, tearing at me like a beast with deadly claws.
sadness, pulling me down like quicksand.

it won't be like this forever. i am sorry you feel so alone, I know that feeling so very well. i remind myself that alone beats the time i spent with my abusers and the company of those who have no idea what is going on. i'd rather be alone than stuck with people who deny my reality; that truly bites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Dreamland,

Wow! What a descriptive poem! It shows you are in touch with your emotions: confusion, loneliness, shame, and anger. As bad as you feel, it's a very good thing that you are aware of what you're feeling. It's also good that you can use your writing as an outlet.

If not too triggering. . .Can I ask, are you aware of what is triggering these feelings? Are there certain thoughts that go with them?

No pressure to answer if you don't feel comfortable. But i wanted you to know i read and heard your pain. I'd like to offer you one of these:

**might trigger**
thank you for the hug. I think the triggers are many right now, like life is the trigger. along with that are a lot of really yucky flashbacks and memories and then all of the switching that goes along with it; which of course leads to real life challenges at work and home. I guess it's a downward spiral and I feel caught in it.

Dreamland,

Yes, when there are alot of flashbacks and switching and triggers, it can make day to day life really difficult, can't it?! It sounds like you've got a whole lot going on under the surface. Are you in therapy? I've had to work with my therapist alot to learn how to contain things between sessions as much as possible. Otherwise, there is just too much going on for me at once to function. Do you use containment? I'm getting better at it, but I find that sometimes, my other parts just refuse to be put safely away!
Thanks for this!

I don't have answers cause we struggle with similar feelings. Know we are here and that we care and that we understand. You are not alone though you may feel it.
Thanks for this!
