This morning we took our kitty that i love so much to the vets to get spayed. All morning until 2pm we worried if she was ok- we love her so much. She's the best cat. i just called and the vet said that the surgery went fine but that she was pregnant. Tears. i would have never wanted her to have the surgery if she was prgnant. She only got out by mistake once when my h wasn't careful. We found her about two hours later in the yard. i feel so so terrible. i should have asked the vet to take a pregnancy test first but everything was so confusing because of the worrying about her and i didn't have any idea. We wouldn't have wanted her kittens killed. Tears. i hate myself - what can- how can i comfort myself. i'm so sorry that it happened. It's too late. The surgery was more complicated and her kittens are gone. Tears.

(((((((Kerria))))))) I'm so very sorry that this happened. But loving animals isn't always easy because they can't always "tell us" what's going on....we can just sense their affection. So, don't blame yourself...and I'm so very grateful that you still have your wonderful kitty w/you.......

Thank you, (((kimmydawn))), (((MacD))) and
(((silver queen))).
The vet didn't know before and we didn't know. This whole subject is triggering for me. Littles are so upset - there's bad fb about it from the past that i can't talk about , so much turmoil inside and no where to go with it.
MacD, you're right- at least i have our precious kitty. We pick her up tomorrow. i need to ask everyone inside to help put this away so we're not so upset about it. We're a wreck all day.

Thanks for being there,
kerria

I know you didn't do this intentionally. Accidents happen. It doesn't make them easier to deal with, but they happen. My mom always tells me that things happen for a reason. There's a reason you lost your sweet kittens. I choose to think they're in a better place now. It wasn't your fault.

((((((Kerria))))) You're so on the right track to healing from this.....Concentrate on that precious creature that is needing your love and protection....and that will help you get over the "what might have been" pain.....I have a thousand stories of the animals that I've loved and lost...but they are all a precious part of the tapestry of my life....and I'm so grateful..... Thank you for being there, Everyone. Maybe a good thing would be to Always check first before spaying any cat or dog. i don't know if they do pregnacy tests- i suppose there would be a way- or talk to the vet first.
We had no indication at all. She was only outside once by accident and that possibility didn't enter our mind.
It would save so much heartache.
