So now what? So now what? <---- pretty much say's it. Been so depressed for so long that I haven't been able to do much work in T dealing with the MPD/DID. There have been issues that have come up, but I haven't been able to deal with them. Now it feels like I'm being hit with everything not being depressed. When I get depressed it's like everything gets shut off. I don't deal with anything and especially not with memories and emotions. Now I'm having to deal with them. I feel being now that I'm not depressed and I don't feel like I want to deal with the memories and emotions right now. I just want to be happy and normal and not have to work in therapy. Feel selfish because I want to ignore my others. I can hear them. But I want the control and to not be forced to pay any attention to them. Just want to be normal for just a little while. I'm I asking for too much?

no, you're not asking for too much. it's very hard. i can related to what you've typed here right now. it's hard, time consuming and demanding. it's a fight for time and attention. So now what?

enjoy the time without depression and tell the others that you are caring for all of you by enjoying life for a while. It's like food, you are being nourished to sustain everyone. Good luck.

I relate too, so so much. But from a personal point of view I have found that acting as if things are OK doesn't always work. Sometimes it just builds up the pressure.

Be good to you.

I used to think therapy had to be tear the heart out type of work. But it really doesnt have to be hard or hurt. a good part of my DID work comes from the work that Nancy J Napier has on her website. She calls it practice for conscious living I have been working those activities and books now for 4-5 years. The activities which she calls "weekly practice in Conscious living are easy to incorporate into a persons life, sometimes actually fun to do and does not require tear the heart out therapy work and I have made amazing progress.
