just so i don't have to do a heap of reading or searching, and i saw 'resource list' as a post in this forum but don't have the head space to go there at the mo... what do other members find the most useful way to stop disosciating from 'life'? I haven't been in this space for a long time, but am doing it without even trying now... can YOU help/guide me?

Irish, I have been diagnosed with the same thing and I still have not found the best meds for me but I know for me I keep a journal handy. My writing will literally change when I write. My therapist told me the biggest concern for myself was safety so I have had to make some personal changes on that but it is easily said then done. I have gone through "numbing out" (thats what I call it cause to me thats what it feels like) periods when I drive which is probably the most scariest thing. But the journaling has helped me understand a little bit more as too what goes on. I am right there with you! If you ever need to talk PM me.

Post titled "rescourse list" is pinned to the top of the dissociative disorders thread page. To get there click on the word dissociative disorders message board and on the page where all these thread subject lines are look in the blue threads area (first few posts of that page) and it is there.

thanx cher. I know about the driving thing- it used to happen all the time to me. i just haven't had these dissociative times for ages, and didn't have as much to lose if something went wrong than what i've got now... Thanx for your reply

thanx myself. My prob at the mo tho is that i don't have the concentration to even contemplate reading through the threads there- i know it will be there for me in the future. For now i was just wondering if any members had found a way to 'stick to reality' that was woroking for them... can YOU help/guide me?

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
