They say the majority of humans only access and use about 10% of their available brain power. I personally theorize that, in order to have DID, you have to be using and accessing MORE of your brain, therefore making you far superior to the other "normal" 10% dimwits. The DIDers would have to be using more because a normal person couldn't function our way. DIDers had to come up with a way to cope, right? Well, I believe that it just so happens that we accessed more of our brain to develop an incredibly genius and strategic coping mechanism. That's why DID is so rare.

This may all be nonsense, but it sounds good, right?

I agree whole-heartedly with Rosalie. A DID brain has to be superior in order to do what it does. (((carrie_ann))) there is not 1 single stupid molecule in your body

I personally dont believe people with DID have superior brains than anyone else. my reasoning is because I know many with lower IQ's and brain damaged people who have DID.

My and the mental health community where I live and work's belief is that dissociation is a very normal thing, that every human being does this in many different ways every single day. those that end up with DID have been through more extreme abuse then those who dont develop DID.

Carrie ann Im sorry you are hurting so much. hope you feel better soon.
