I used to have thoughts similar but since I have been therapy I have found that if I ask the voice/thought, Why do you want to hurt me? What did I do to upset you? Is there something you are trying to tell me? Usually one of those questions will evoke an answer/thought and bring us into a dialogue. I think a lot of times when I was thinking about hitting myself it was because my alter was trying to communicate it's displeasure with something I did or didn't do. Once he or she was able to get the thought out he/she had less desire to hit me. Just ask him/her what they want. I hope that helps. Feel better

Sometimes when I am alone I think about things that I will be doing the next day or during the week. Something as simple as remembering that I am going to go for a walk in the morning will change my negative thoughts. Reading also helps to get me out of negativity.

Adventure Time is on Cartoon Network ~ <3

Watch a cute little cartoon C: It makes me happier!

By the way, as long as you aren't a serial killer and/or rapist, you don't deserve to be in pain. People make mistakes in their life... But if you truly regret what have done, then you have been forgiven already C: Those who can't get over your mistakes are the ones at fault, not you.

Life is hard, but you only have one life <3 Try to make the best of it and stay away from the people who try to drag you down. No excuses - Just try <3 Because then you can realize the true person you are inside <3 Now find yourself <3

~~Be happy~~
Thanks for this!

Often I hate what we have become. Mostly I am just hating our negative aspects, and it takes someone prodding us to realize we have positive aspects as well. We have many talents, we are strong, we are caring and honest. May I suggest making a short list of positive aspects of you?
Thanks for this!

Sometimes I find something to distract myself to keep me from having those thoughts. A struggle to do something constructive like organizing my mess in my room. Making a list for groceries, etc may help me. If I feel for a need for contact with others I try PC. That some of I what I find helpful.
Thanks for this!

I know distractions do help us. But, sometimes, we forget them. Do you ever have that problem? We're trying to take good care of ourselves. Thanks for the support.

(((((kyangel04))))...I just returned from "retail therapy"...just to the dollar stores and good will.....now i feel a little better. I know you and i keep missing one another... As former president Bill Clinton said " I feel your Pain". Sometimes it helps just to come here and write things down.....it helps get things out of your head. I am so sorry you are feeling bad, I have a refrigerator magnet that reads: Turn Off Old Toxic Tapes.... TOOTT
Keep TOOTT-ing your "horn" Know that you are loved!!!! I keep it on my front door as a reminder that I am a good, sweet, smart and at times silly person and I matter in this world

Yes, I forget them or too lazy to do the distractions. Today, I did a short to do list that made me go outside to complete tasks and had to use the stupid phone to do phone tag to make the communication was clear because to the person on the phone I'm just a name, voice, and the phone number. So I felt successful today. That's a productive distraction that I had today that motivated me for rest of the day away from negative thoughts and feelings.
