![]() ![]() Its so weird to me when I suddenly realize I can remember being only like 3 years old when they were building our house, but I cant remember ANYTHING from like grade 1,2,3, and half of four. Dont remember a single thing about life or what I was like or anything. For that matter, i dont remember anything from age 4 or 5, and when I look at pictures ofm yself I feel like I am looking at some strange little girl. Sometimes I feel like the memories are there, but theres this giant wall that i just can't break through.. sort of like when you know something is on the tip of your tounge but you cant remember. Is this part of the whole dissociative thing? It seems it would be. |

I don't remember much before the age of six, although I do remember everything about kindergarten and first grade, down to the clothes I wore.
![]() I asked my mother recently "where did I sleep?" because before we moved, the house only had two bedrooms. Mother and father in one-- three brothers in the other. My mother said, "Gee, I don't remember." I asked my one remaining brother. (six years older than me) "I dunno," he said. ![]() I'm thinkin' it might be a good thing that I don't remember. ![]() |

could be or it could be just the normal. most kids don't remember things below 5 years old unless it is something that makes a big impression on them like moving, going to an amusement park for the first time and things like that. if things were just the normal same thing day in and day out kids dont usually remember it. when my child was 9 he didn't remember simple things but remembered taking an airplane somewhere or a bus on a big trip, he doesnt remember which appartment is which because here they all look the same but does remember meeting his father for the first time. he doesn't remember each and every bus ride we took in his whole life but does remember the one bus ride when we were going to meet his father for the first time. normally children remember what makes an impression on them otherwise its like the brain says who cases been there done that kind of thing.
So what you are experiencing could just be normal for you or it could be related to dissociation if what you are not remembering is a traumatic event. |

Well - this is where it gets weird. I don't remember any of the big stuff. This was when everything was going on so its very possible. The things I remember are extremely normal..everyday things.. though there are very few of them. Timeline would put them right at the worst of it though.
