Hey Everyone

I just wanted you all to know that I read your posts and find so much of use. At the moment I sit infront of the screen paralyzed - wanting to post, but afraid that if I do everything 'sitting on the top' will pour out. I resumed T last week with a new T after four years off.

My life was ticking along nicely. Does anyone feel like going to T is just like giving the ***** a licence to surface - thats what it feels like for me.

Please don't feel that I am ignoring anyone cause I am not - I am incredibly solitary by nature and find it REALLY difficult to put stuff out there.

Thinkin of you all

Storm

Storm,

Going to T is tough. It makes us look at all the bad stuff that we are hiding inside - which is why we are going to T. Unfortunately, the only way to resolve this stuff is to process it again - but this time in a healthier way so it won't come back and haunt us forever.

Hang in there - I know, easier said than done. But,, we are here for support.

Hugs,
Songbird

Congratulations, Storm, on taking those first steps and on taking risks in putting yourself out here. Hopefully you will come to feel safer doing so as you do it more. But "baby steps" is fine.

I know what you mean about T sessions bringing all kinds of stuff to the surface, and that can make everyday life seem harder to cope with. But, for me, the thing about T sessions is I hope it will enable me to cope better in the longer term. If it can stop me relapsing into depression in future, or even make the episodes less severe, then that makes it worth it for me, painful as the experience is.

Hang in there, and I hope you are able to share some of this with T. I have been known to print off my posts and emails and take them to T, or even email them to him before sessions.

Be safe

I think you do a wonderful job of support here. Sometimes it's really hard to work with your t. It brings so many hurtful things to the surface. I hope things go much better soon.

Hugs,

Jan

.....I RECKON!!!!!! I have a real thing about losing control over how and when the 'stuff' is let out. Everytime someone new comes into my life it ends up feeling like confession ally.

Maybe we could write a handbook '101 Ways To Tell A Prospective Lover -I'm In Therapy' Bet we'd make millions.

Hi Storm,

I wrote that. It means that even though today is sometimes horrible, I still have dreams and hope that maybe tomorrow or some day things will be better. I look forward to those good times to come. That hope and those dreams make a bad today survivable.

The other refers to "The Lord of the Rings". In the books, the elves live in huge, magnificent trees in Lothlorien. I love to read, I love forests and I surely like to read about the elves, so, I would like to be there if I could. Stormy Weather

Thank you for asking.

Hugs,

Jan

you're welcome.
I haven't yet worked out whether I enjoy t sessions or not. I appreciate them. I get things from them. I hope I am improving from the work I do there. But a lot of the time they are such stomach churningly, thought challenging, hard work!

It's interesting because once you said where the words came from I knew straight away 'oh of course LOTR'............I'm a massive fan of the Hobbit book, have read it over and over again, get lost in each time and it's not unusual for me to fall asleep with it snuggled into me.........
