Do you know your inner landscape? My therapist always asked about mine...like where did my parts all live. Well, I had the most amazing insight during the night....ever since I was a child, I have dreamt about a house with magical properties and hidden rooms. The same house over and over and over....sometimes with more rooms added and last night I realized that this is where my parts live. I'm just amazed. And kind of scared. Last night when I dreamt of this house, I found a whole boarded up floor....

I have never been asked if I had an inner landscape. I don't think I have one. Having said that I have had so many dreams about so many different buildings, none of them the same. I have also had different dreams that are in the house that I grew up in.
Thanks for this!

as a child I did have inner landsapes I would escape to, like during the trauma I would sink into the mattress and "become" the mattress, sink into the walls and "become" the wall, sink into the dirt floor of the mine shaft and "become" the dirt floor.

as an adult my therapist and I used guided visualizations to mindfully create an inner landscape that I can use to help control my anxiety. because it is my willfully not unconsciously created inner landscape I can at any time use meditation visualizations to make changes...example last night I was listening to a relaxation CD and visualizing my inner landscape. I decided i needed to have some birds there and created it by picturing what kinds of birds I wanted to see.

As for inner landscapes of my alters well they each had their own way of being so its understandable that Rainy's inner landscape was a closet, and sunny's inner landscape was lounging in the back yard, where as trixie's was a bar....I never saw/participated in their landscapes but they did participate in using my inner landscape that my therapist and I willfully created using guided visualization at times.

That is amazing about the magical house with all the rooms! And about merging into the matriss or walls.
My protective place is in a place like Narnia where I'm the warrior princess on a horse. I'm the protector of my inner child. I have a sword to defend against 'dragons" which represent my inner kid's fears. I also imagine taking my alters out in the state park behind my house to do survival skills. All this is very strengthening.

We have an inner space- there are some dark woods where some kids hide. There is a pond way back in the woods.there is a barn with horses, there used to be a castle but it got destroyed by a tornado, and there is now a school room.
