So how do you tap into your parts and get them all in the meeting room... What do you discuss? I could see if you could talk to each part it would prevent unwanted appearances from parts popping up during the day when your the one suppose to be showing up.
I hate trauma work you guys. We briefly touched down on trauma with T and it threw me for a f*%king loop!! Trying to not want to quit. |

I am struggling with my trauma work too.
I ask one part to spread the word when i need to have a meeting. Keep trying. I understand its difficult. I'm trying to hang in there too. |

My t asked that I get my groups into one room around a table and discuss things. I have groups that don't really communicate with each other. How would I get them into one room if they don't communicate with other? Is there a way of doing this.

examples of ground rules.... the one calling the meeting says something like... everyone who can hear me attend the meeting and then they tell others if they can. everyone takes turns talking. when its time for the meeting we will go sit at the dining room table or other quiet area (real time holding these kinds of meetings can sometimes get outsiders staring and wondering what is going on if you are for example in a store and someone at the meeting suddenly blurts out something, outsiders cant see those with in so they dont know this physical person isnt taking to their self, and other not so nice words society sometimes uses when they see someone on the street or other public area talking aloud.) once you find a quiet area you use your imagination on what the meeting place can look like or be so that everyone feels safe (sometimes in therapy a therapist will help a person develop their meeting or safe place through the use of imagination/meditation/visualization like my therapist did for me) once everyone is settled the one who called the meeting starts the topic of discussion. the mental meeting goes on until things have been squared away or a time limit has been reached (some people set a time and how long the mental meeting will be. the meeting room can be anything that you want it to be, after all you are using your imagination/visualization to create it. to go back to it after its been created just find your quiet space and visualize what your meeting place looks like. |

I would also give thought to making the room comfy for everyone. Different kinds of chairs, or pillows to sit on. Remember kids might write better with a crayon or marker, while adults will want pens probably. Just little touches to make easier to come together. |

I like the idea of someone saying "everyone who can hear this is invited to the meeting" But who says this? I don't get that part. |

example Rainy decides she wants a meeting about buying a new stuffed animal for her to hold. she thinks/says I'm calling a meeting at 6 pm after dinner anyone that can hear me can attend, those that can hear me let the others that can hear them know. the meeting will be at the dining room table. then the meeting is held. Another example Thelma decides she wants to hold a meeting about the rule of no drinking alcohol. she thinks/says I want to hold a meeting about this anyone that can hear me can attend. if you know anyone else that can hear you let them know. the meeting will be in the bedroom at 9 pm....then the meeting is held.. anyone with in the system can call a meeting at any time with a date and time of the meeting and a topic for discussion. the on be facilitating the meeting is the one who called for the meeting since it is their wanting the meeting. think if it like posting here on psych central, though we have one user name some alters contribute to the posting and threads too and sometimes its a certain alter that begins the discussion because they have a problem they want to talk about. |

dissociation is like moving from point A, to point B to point C.....by that I mean it has different points of reference....normal (examples concentrating, imagination , thinking about things so deeply that you dont pay attention to whats outside yourself and your thoughts.) then it moves along the line into the abnormal of what here in america we call each of the dissociative disorders depending upon many other factors and problems/accompanying symptoms. every human being naturally has normal dissociative times in their lives. you may want to read some of your past posts, I bet doing that you will be able to find many instances where you posted about things that include concentrating and using your imagination. i do know some people have a harder time concentrating and using their imagination when they are on meds or using medical marijuana or stressed out....gosh there are many different things that can interfere with a persons concentration/imagination processes. suggestion maybe you can talk with your treatment providers. there are ways ...meds, mental exercises and such that can help you to improve your concentration/imagination skills. one thing I do is play matching games. take a deck of cards, shuffle and then place them face down. then pick up two cards at a time, if they dont match put them back the way they were. you will be surprised at how fast your brain does its natural concentration skill of letting you know where the matches are as you go through the game. the game /mental exercise ends when all cards have been matched. |

You know... I never thought about dissociating that way- imagination and concentration... I guess it really is... Just that comes so naturally and all this other stuff just doesn't
