I have been suffering from Derealization all my life. I remember my first episode when I was 13. i then had several other ones but they went away. I have been stuck in this now for several years, unable to get out. I panic if I am here or not.

HOW I FEEL:
- disconnected
- like I am stoned
- like I am in a dream

These feeling create more anxiety and panic. I just can't snap out of it. I know it is linked to anxiety. I just can't get out.

How I cope. I ask myself questions such as:
- I can see
- I smell
- I see familiar faces so I'm obviously not dead
- I feel pain

At times this don't work.

My question is......IS THERE HELP? A MEDICATION? ANYONE SNAP OUT OF THIS?

I'd greatly appreciate a response. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Rick

for some people yes medication can help with derealizization for others it doesnt help. it all depends on each persons own reasons why they have this problem.

my suggestion contact your (or a ) mental health treatment [provider in your own location. they will be able to assess whether meds can help you or not.

Not an expert on derealization

Here are some articles.
Psych Central - Search results for Derealization dealing with

My own experiences make me wonder if diet could be a contributing factor.

Do you have protein with every meal ?(the brain requires protein to function correctly)

Do you have a high carbohydrate diet? (in hypoglycemia can produce delusions or disconnectedness or depression)

Curious what you might say to diet issue.
