I don't know anything about interpreting dreams but I can imagine how unsettling that can be.

Inny, my husband got up really early one morning so when I woke early too I was surprised he was already up. I asked him why and he said he'd had a really frustrating dream, so frustrating he'd awakened himself to get away from it.
He had dreamed he was looking for his car in a really large parking garage and couldn't find it, even had someone trying to help him find it but he just couldn't. He got tired of looking so woke himself up. I murmured my condolences :-) at such a dream, mine are much more interesting, LOL, but then he commented that after he woke up, he figured out why he couldn't find the car. I immediately asked with some interest at this plot twist, "Why?" He answered, "Because I parked it in another dream." I've had similar dreams where I'll dream something, wake in the night then drift off to sleep again and have something from the first dream interfere in the second. I even had a "serial" dream once where for three nights it would start with a "recap" of what I'd dreamed previously, just like you'd see in a TV show! That got so bad I literally got confused which was "real" my dreaming or my living! I love dreams and trying to figure them out. If I had dreamed your dream I'd look in real life and try to see where I'm not giving myself enough information :-) being thorough enough. I'd try to find some culprits :-) who make me feel as if what they say makes no sense and ask them some pointed questions, figure out where they're coming from better. I'd look into myself too and make sure I knew where I was coming from and then ignore anyone who "thinks they know better" about me and where I'm coming from without checking/getting the information from Me.

Inny,
This sentence is what stuck out for me. i will dream that im doing one thing....then find myself somewhere else It sounds like a classic "out of control" dream where you've become lost ...thinking you were in one place in your life but others see you -- or you find yourself -- somewhere else. stuff that appears to be ..in my handwriting last night i dreamt that there were pictures of me i posted up...that i dont remember posting up...and knowing well that i wouldnt post them up Are you doing/saying/thinking things that are out of character? Handwriting can represent self-expression and creativity. Pictures/photos could be a reflection of who you are/think you are. I am no dream expert, lol. But I have worked through a lot of my own with T and know that, for me, everything in the dream comes back to being about me and my fears, hopes, insecurities, anger etc. T has me come up with the common theme, then break it down. (like I did with the bold print) Then I think about how it applies to my life. I only offer my thoughts on how I would break it down, not to influence your own interpretation. I agree with Perna to take a look on what's going on in your life. I'm sure others will weigh in with their experiences and thoughts which will probably be a hell of a lot more insightful than mine. ![]() Petunia |

thanks guys
petunia...great observation...i dont think im doing anything out of character....but i do know i have lost complete control of myself. And my memory has done no justice lately for myself...like today we went to san jose but i couldnt remember for the heck of me what it was called when telling my grandma about it....lol who forgets what san jose is called...anyway another weird thing about my dreams is that are you ever between sleep and being awake? Its hard to explain...like your mentally awake but your so out of it and everything is a blur ?? I know but if youve had it youd understand... its so crazy though kinda drives me alittle nuts and it just keeps happening. thanks for your thoughts....i am sorry i dont have much more information.....lol its so weird...

I don't dream I dissociate. I dream things that I have done when I was dissociated and didn't remember doing those things. But one time I started dreaming alot about killing myself. it turned out the reason that I was dreaming about it was because I was reading alot about it on line and so my brain started acting out in my dreams once I stopped reading about that stuff I stopped dreaming about it. my counselor says that brains do that sometimes. its like listening to a radio song so many times that every time you turn around you are mentally singing that song. So maybe these dreams are just your brains way of saying you are reading too much about dissociating stuff. maybe its time to take a break from that stuff and do something different, more calm and fun related.

Some people experience it on a regular basis between waking & sleep. Not me, unfortunately,so I can offer no first hand experiences, only theoretical stuff. I would suggest you google it & follow the links.

Hi Inny,
As I was reading your post, a couple of things occurred to me. First of all, I don't think it's weird at all! Our dreams are always different than real life. Otherwise, they'd be so boring. It sounds like you may be getting in touch with different parts of yourself that you don't know very well. We all have them. Also, are you taking any meds? Since I have been taking lexpro, I have very vivid dreams, much more vivid than before. Just a thought. Cheers, sister

Hey Inny
I don't believe you're wierd either... well if you are so am I then. I think I dream something kind of similar to yours. A few nights ago I had a dream that there was this crazy person, sickly in love with one of my classmates. I mean this person would leave the stranges messages for this person, but somehow the messages never reached my classmates. I kept getting the messages instead, which was really wierd, until in the end of the dream in turned out I was the one leaving the messages, which is obviously why I always got them... hmm thinking maybe it's a little similar.. I've had dreams like this before. Often they are dreams like the one above, like some maniac crazy person psychopath is doing really sick things, and it puzzles me why I'm always at the "crime-scene" until it turns out it's really me doing it, except I don't remember there's just some wierd clue, that doesn't even always seem logical. Anyways, got a comment on the half awake half asleep thing too, sorry it's so long the post. I do that a lot too. Like sometimes, I dream I'm drowning, and I'll be struggling for my life holding my breath in my sleep, except I'm aware it's just a dream but I still can't breathe or stop kikcking my legs. I'm still panicking. It's really scary. Also sometimes if I've been on a boat in my sleep or in a car, when I wake up I see my room speeding by or bobbing up and down. At one time it made me seasick. If people are in my dreams sometimes I still see them when I wake up, which is really scary, generally I just have a lot of trouble escaping my dreams once I wake. I hate those dreams. The only thing I've found to work is an exercise where you become aware of your surroundings.... don't know if you've heard of them.. anyways it's on a tape I got from my T and not in English, but if you're interested I'll ask her where it is possible to find one in english. Sorry it's so long ![]() ((((((((Inny))))))) |
