personalities fighting for host control

I'm bouncing back forth. It's Susie and Steve. I feel like a yoyo. My conscious is confused. Fighting for control as host. Not sure what to do. I'm switching every minute. Have you heard of such a thing? I tried to imagine it's not real, but that doesn't work. I'm thinking a choice has to be made. Took my AP, deal with it in morning I guess? It's been going on all day since I added Steve to the listing below. I thought I was doing him a favor, but they're yelling at each other in my head. Most of it is unintelligible but boy are they pissed. They're both good. They both make valid points. Ones nurturing while the other is all business. I need both. Ones logical while the other is emotional. Can't you tell which one I am? Why can't they share? My turn, I'm the one holding this family together. I care. He's cold and not caring. We need love right now. The kid is about to leave home and we're trying to not make him hate us. Besides, I've been running things for awhile. So this is so unfair. He gets his chances.

alwayschangeing2 ...rapidly switching from one alter to another or back and forth is quite common with DID. the psychological term for it is called the revolving door. its also common for alters to talk, discuss and sometimes argue. this is called being co conscious with each other and establishing communication. Some people have to work very hard to do this others it just happens that their alters can do this. it may not seem like it but its actually a good thing. most if not all people that have internal systems that can do what yours can do tend to progress and become one whole person again at a faster rate because they can skip the step of working to establish co consciousness and communication between everyone.

one thing that helps those that I know that have reached this level of healing is finding out what each alters preferences are and keep available options for them...example when I found out Rainy was shy, quiet, sad, loved blankets I bought a few soft blankets and some things she could do by herself when she wanted to be by herself like coloring books, books on tape, playdoh. when I found out that thelma loved make up I bought a basic make up kit, mirror. ...

since you have co consciousness (can hear and talk with your alters, understand what they are fighting about) you are in the best position to help them. ....maybe you all can sit down and write out some rules and instead of having one host have co hosts where like others here on psych central have with their systems of instead of having that one alter in control the alters work according to who does what when.. one comes out when its time to drive, another comes out when its time to cook, another comes out when its time to pay the bills. each alter is an equal just like normal people everyone is equal.

Getting them all to behave as equals is a huge task. The levels of understanding can be so varied.

I have a few renegades that flat out don't care because part of my life went underworld. Now I'm a family man/woman. They escape every now and then and cause chaos.
