I'm recently discovering that each alter can have their own MI. One can be ADHD, another Borderline, another Narccism...

I'm so confused. I'm so tempted to quit all psychiatric meds to see what happens. I'm willing to go insane to discover the truth.

I'm just wondering if my meds are making me more loopier than I really am.

What to do? Meds have stabilized my mood, but I don't know if it's like the same as just smoking a joint and drinking a pitcher of beer to become passive, which I've done forever.

I also have a disability case pending because I can't function enough to deal with life. Idk what to do. Any thoughts?

Hi Always, it is not your meds throwing you for a loop. It is the smoking and drinking that sends you flying. Try cutting back a little on smoking and drinking and see if you feel a little more grounded.

I wish I had a good answer for you, but I'm not sure what to tell you. Sometimes I wonder the same thing about my meds --if they're not just adding to my "loopiness."And there are times when I wonder if just lighting up a joint once in a while wouldn't help me just as much. Now that pot's legal in my state, I've actually considered buying some and then getting some v-caps from the health food store and taking it in pill form....I know that doesn't answer your ?????

Drinking on meds can cause it's own problems. So u don't know if it's alters, your dx or the alcohol mixed with meds. If u don't know what the problem is, how can u fix it?

Thanks, but I don't smoke, and I haven't started drinking to late. When we first started taking psych meds, it was years before I had a drink.

AD has always put me in the clouds, then a stabilizer to chill. Why take the AD? Then I won't need the stabilizer. The more I think of it, the more it makes sense.

It's worth it to get off of pills that I don't need.
