Woke up in my parents bed with no recollection of how I got there. My mom claims I was walking over there all wobbly. I have never sleep walked in my life. What could cause one to sleep walk?

From WebMD:

Several things can lead to sleepwalking.

It can run in the family. Identical twins are more likely to sleepwalk. If you have a parent, brother, or sister who sleepwalks, you're 10 times more likely to do so than someone from a family with no sleepwalkers.

You might also have the disorder if you're:

Sleep deprived
On a chaotic sleep schedule
Stressed
Drunk
Taking drugs such as sedative-hypnotics (which promote relaxation or sleep), neuroleptics (used to treat psychosis), stimulants (which boost activity), and antihistamines (used to treat symptoms of allergy)
Medical conditions that have been linked to sleepwalking include:

Heart rhythm problems
Fever
Heartburn
Nighttime asthma
Nighttime seizures
Obstructive sleep apnea (a condition in which you briefly stop breathing during sleep)
Restless leg syndrome
Psychiatric disorders, for example, posttraumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, or dissociative states, such as multiple personality disorder
-----------------

Even having to pee causes it.

It's something to take up with your care providers. No one can say here and now. It's a common thing, so I wouldn't be too alarmed about it, as long as you don't end up 2 blocks away ordering a hamburger at 3 in the morning- heard of this happening. You're okay!

Makes sense, I have restless leg and take drugs for psychotic and anxiety. Plus I noticed whenever I get really stressed I dissociate.

If it's causing you issues, please bring it up to your Health care team and they can do the appropriate health studies and med adjustments.

Just curious, when you dissociate, do you go into a trance like state, you know, foggy, dreamy, and timeless?
Thanks for this!

Yes I do. I'm going to be getting a therapist soon. Why do you ask?

Just curious, because I end up there too. It's always a fight to stay focused which I lose at until I walk away from the enviroment and finally ground myself.
I also deal with a touch of derealism, and grounding weirdly comes natural to me.

What grounding techniques do you use? I haven't found any that have worked for me yet.

Okay, I see hallucinations, so I'm used to weird stuff. Walking into a grocery store triggers me with all the noise, people, light, and colors, like an arcade.

I focus on labels, reading content, objects looking at shapes and textures, associating real life to the weirdness, and eventually I get back. I pay no attention to the surreal, and it fades away.

Or I sit there and enjoy the ride because what I've seen in my life, this is nothing.

Ah okay. I've noticed the only thing that grounds me partially is pain. But I know there isn't anything positive coming from that. I've tried focusing on a object, playing with something with my hands, mindfullness, etc. But I still can't keep myself from floating away.
