I came back to work yesterday. My brother is doing so so right now. They put him on a feeding tube friday. He's doing well with that so far. Building up his strength. But I had to come back to work, things are uncertain right now about my job. Yesterday they decided that the Development Council that I work for will be no more as of July 1. They are moving the aging service into the Development District. So if I want to keep the job I have now I'll have to reapply for my job. I was told today that I will have to have a resume and interview to keep a job. If I decide I don't want to work for the development district they offered me 2 years unemployment. So now I'm upset I have to go through this ordeal just to keep a job. I know that some of the people I work with now won't be offered to even interview for a job due to them not having a BSW. I'm just sad and nervous about the whole thing. The only good thing about this is if I get the job I will get state retirerment and a pay increase. Hope that they will consider that I have 5 years in the job and my work history. We can't afford to be unemployed with my husband in school still and not working. Plus the fact of health insurance. I know that my insurance will change if I get to keep the job. Just a whole lot of unknowns right now.

That doesn't sound good, but like you say you've had a lot of experience working with them already... they should take that into account when interviewing you. Are there any other jobs you can apply for so that there isn't as much pressure to succeed in staying in your current department?

I hope you can get this done for yourself. If you can, divide the requirements up into smaller pieces and begin on one of them as soon as you can. It's good to be working in/for the system because even if this job does dissolve in the future, odds are you will assimilate another position, and keep drawing a paycheck. Yes, benefits are good too!

Do what you can! ((((hugs)))

Thank You so much everyone for all the hugs. Things are a little crazy
I'm just very very stressed out right now. So much is still really unknown with the job. A co-worker brought something up that I never even thought about, our sick and vacation time. I have a lot saved up ( never know when ya need it ) well, I may lose ALL of it. There's a big meeting monday with the new bosses and everyone that works there. Then tuesday they are sitting down with everyone to let us know what we have to do and if we want to apply for our possitions. I'm really nervous about having new insurance and how they will pay for my T and all. That's a big worry for me. Will I lose my T if he's not on their insurance and how much I'll have to pay, plus number of visits. Things are a little crazy Things are a little crazy T's been out of town this week so I haven't been able to talk to him yet. Very stressful at work, you can feel everyones tension in the air. I'm going to get my resume done this week-end and hope for the best.
On top of everything happening we moved into the new house this week. The things T and I worked on for the move haven't been an issue. I didn't know that the bathroom would be a issue for some of the others. I thought we could adjust easier to the new place better then we have concerning that room. But things aren't very good in that area of things. We have a lot of trouble getting into the shower right now. We can't close the door to that room when we're in there, a lot of panic in there so far. That I got to get out of here something or bad things will happen. Things are a little crazy Just needing my T right now.

My interview is tuesday for the new job. I'm hoping I get the job. I've been looking for a job if I'm not asked to return in July. I haven't been able to find any jobs. There's nothing right now.

To top everything off, I have a physical on wed. I'm also having an echocardiogram wednesday as well. This is my first echo. I've had EKG's in the past, but they want an echo this time since I had the hypertensive crisis last month. I'm so stressed out right now.

Rachel has been going out and shopping like crazy. We came home yesterday after being gone for hours shopping. Our H asked what we got? I had no clue, all I knew was that we spent $90. Rachel spent $100 the week before on clothes and the week before that it was make-up. And the biggest kicker of all is a new car. We don't know if we'll have a job in a few weeks and she goes out and gets a car. She knows how to work our H to get anything she wants. What am I suppose to do? I don't have any control over anything right now. I'm just really stressed and losing it.

Thank You everyone for the support. Things are just so stressful right now. Everyone I work with is so on edge, we are all snapping at each other. I'll be glad when this is all over and we have answers. They aren't telling us anything here. That's whats making it so stressful. Just leaving everyone guessing.

They are having different ppl come in to do they interviews. Things are a little crazy I need a vacation !!!!!!

I'll let you all know what happens.
