I do jigsaw puzzles.

What is your favorite vegetable (because there are vegetarians here) and how do you fix it?

My favorite vegetable is cauliflower. I like to steam it in the micro bag I buy it in, and then sprinkle lemon juice and Natures Seasons on it. Yum!!

What is your favorite ocean food and how do you fix it?

Yes. We are in a creative profession--three different media--plus there is a lot of creativity as an outlet at home.

Has anyone on the outside seen one of you that were not meant to be seen and said they didn't recognize you?

This used to happen a lot, but not so much nowadays.

How much sleep do you get each night?

I get around 6 hours on a good night. On the weekends I sleep in to make up for it.

The time changes this weekend and it makes me want to cry. Does the time change make you sad?

it makes us feel... well, strange

we always forget to change the clocks (regardless of how many people tell us), so the next day comes and we're like even more stressed about time than usual because we've not done what we should and reset the clocks

1 year we really messed it up, and found ourselves on spanish time for a few days afterward... just, no. it was horrible.

and we can never work out when the clocks go back and when they go forward!

more stressed than sad

what do you like to do when you can't sleep
Thanks for this!

We like to stare at the ceiling and ponder about things because even though things get dark sometimes, we know things will turn out alright as long as we stay strong.

questions: dissociative disorders version

Has your system ever touched or seen a service dog before?

I usually eat. Which I know I shouldn't do.

SS, I use "Spring forward, fall back" to remember which way the clock goes. This time of year it means an extra hour of sleep

What is your favorite season of the year?

I have a service dog! He is awesome. Usually service dogs are not supposed to get attention from people other than their owner. This is because the dog needs to stay focused on their person so they can help him/her, and if you are petting it, it is going to pay attention to you.
Thanks for this!

Actually being able to smile for ourselves for the first time in a while really. We're going to keep working hard towards that though (As always) Aside from that, perhaps getting some nicer clothes for the new year.

How merciful are you towards insects?

Not very, for I live in a place that is so old that I am overrun with them if I don't get rid of them. I try to be nice and capture some and put them outside sometimes. But, usually I am unmerciful. I don't like being bit while I sleep, or having them crawl on me

Do you like stuffed animals?

Nothing. I don't think there is anything I miss. I think it is so much better to know and understand what is going on than to just be... 'lost', for want of a better word.

No. I just canceled my next appointment. I don't think he understands me or cares. I am sad. I wish I could find someone to talk to.

Do you do art?

Sorry to hear that BrazenApogee. Are you going to look for someone else?

I am not artistic at all, but someone in here is. When I reconnected with an old friend recently she showed me some things I (we - someone in here) had made for her and I do not remember them at all and can not imagine having the skills to make them. They were much better than anything I could make.

Don't mistake it for weakness if you did. Would honestly be willing to travel to find the "right" therapist.

Kinda have to. While we've had thoughts of self harm, we won't bring ourselves to do it because we figure it'd be kind of selfish to do so without hurting the others. A strange paradox you would say maybe?

What kind of small pleasures do you and the others like?

A hug. (So I will probably buy something to hug for the ones who want this.)

Question:

For those who have other gender insiders: how do you resolve gender identity conflict in outside life and is this a big issue for you socially?

We would give you a hug every day if we could. We like you and think PsychCentral is a much better place because you are a part of it. Really.

We only have two of us. Male 51 and female 6. Because of her age, we don't have near as much difficulty as those who deal with gender identity issues with older members of the system. That is not to say we don't have any challenges but most are not visible to the outside world.

For instance, our therapist can tell immediately who woke up in the morning based on how we are dressed - though few others could. I'm considered harmlessly eccentric enough to be able to have just about any outfit I put on 'fit'. Plus, I happen to rock the color pink. Feel sad for the men who can't.

She gets the occasional crush but she's six so I don't have to deal with the more awkward situations that having an older alter of the opposite sex might bring - besides, she never gets a crush on anyone who isn't awesome, so we just develop friendships with them.

The biggest challenge we have is her desire to have friends her own age. Because of our body being the gender and age it is, this is something we have to do without.

Okay, lessee...question: If you could pick one alter to run the show from now until forever - who would it be and why? For the purposes of this question you could (limited time offer and one time only deal) change the age and gender of the body as you wish.

I would pick me, of course. I am by far the most functional, with the added bonus of believing that all the others are pieces of me and belong to me, so I am by far the most integrative choice. I happen to be 20 years younger than the body, and I don't see that would be a problem either. I am definitely the only candidate who will be able to Make this Person Great Again!

Same question for the next person!
