There has been a great deal going on in my life.. the last 3 weeks.. it has been a very hard journey.. to say the least...

I went in for follow-up to tests today... and my primary doctor came out and asked if I was DID.. that shocked me...

I guess I was too shocked to really ask.. "and how did you know that?"... could be she contacted my pdoc.. could be she even read it on here.. or could be thru her own therapy she knew..

I have been with her since she started practice... 7 years.. as she struggeled to define herself.. me there.. seeing her alot...

So her reaction was not pretend it was complete acceptance.. wow.. can we say??? complete wow....

I am a tad bit "numb" yet.. haven't figured out how I "all" feel..
I got "outed"... so that is why I am uncomfortable.. that hasn't happenned in the 23 years since my DX..

What do you guys think? what do you think I did that caused her to guess??

((((((((((((((( freewill ))))))))))))))))))

Maybe in the 7 years you have been seeing her, she has been able to put some subtle messages together to ask you that question. It seems to me that after 7 years, she may have just found the courage to ask you if you are, not wanting to intrude on your space, but wanting to know so that she can give you the best possible care??? It also seems to me that she must be observant (since you say you are good at hiding it) enough to figure it out.

I'm sorry you are feeling uncomfortable with all of this. I'm sure you all need some time to settle into the idea of your doc knowing.....try to be gentle with yourselves hon.

As far as her finding out from your pdoc, the only way she could was if you had signed a form giving her permission to access information from your pdoc.

I'm glad she was completely accepting of your dx freewill. She sounds like a good doc who truly cares and you must be quite comfortable to be with her for 7+ years now Pimary Care Doctor.... guessed...

I had a situation where a pdoc "guessed". Something happened while talking to him about another family member and I guess he was schooled in DID. I vaguely remember playing dumb about it when he started asking some questions but I am not sure how I handled it in the end because I freaked out so much inside that I guess it made me lose more time.

My t said though that normal people (that I generally deal with) wouldn't know... they don't know (I guess). She feels that had that incident not happened to trigger and if he wasn't knowledgeable about DID, he wouldn't have known. So I guess it was a freak accident for me but it freaked the boogers out of me...

Perhaps she just realized something was going on and did some research or knew enough about DID to wonder. I understand you being uncomfortable. I hope you are feeling better about it now. That's wonderful that she was so accepting.
