We're losing the second therapist in a year soon and have little to no interaction with people who know about our disorder, and live with past abusers. We don't feel comfortable with losing another therapist so soon and they were a very good one. Looking for suggestions for getting more help or branching out to meet people who are open to different ways of living in our area (are ok with us having a disorder and being open about it). It would be nice to stop living so secretively. We are going to be looking for a new therapist but are putting it off another week because it's emotionally draining.

Perhaps you can reach out to this board for some connection? I am losing my therapist soon too. I don't live with my abusers but I am still tied to them in more ways than one. As termination date draws closer I am getting more and more desperate and fearful. For me I know I need to keep in contact with others about my DID and not forget it. I will be seeing a new therapist soon but there will be a gap between Ts.
I think its important to be able to be validated in some way by someone. I hope you find some others to connect with, including here.
Thanks for this!

Thank you, I'll try to reach out on the board more. I get paranoid about people finding out who I am based on my system (someone has in the past). I'll try though. My last meeting with my current therapist is Thursday. I might ask her for one more session on Friday so I have a little more closure, not sure.
