Hi everyone, I am new to this site and just want to say hi to you all!
For quite some time I have been struggling with depression, and my relationships with others have changed drastically. When analyzing my relationships, I only look for the benefits for myself (ex. this person is worth keeping as a friend because... or if I strengthen my relationship with this person, others will like me more etc) I also often feel as if my life is playing out sort of like a movie, and someone is watching. I feel disconnected with others and invisible. Do I have depersonalization disorder, or could these just be symptoms of depression? Thanks! |

Hello allieb257, welcome to PC!
![]() ![]() Unfortunately we here cannot diagnose you, but I can tell you that what you describe is not typically associated with depression or depersonalization disorder. It would be best to bring these concerns up with a therapist. Even if you can't attach a label to it, it is certainly worth looking into and working through. |
