I was just diagnosed with schizophrenia. But I get these episodes where my mind is filled with thoughts that i know arent my own. Its a female voice, it sounds like mine, but those thoughts are negative and things i would never think of. And after the episode i dont remember what I was thinking. My family says I start acting aggressively and seem frustrated. But then I kind of wake up and I'm back to myself. But I feel like I was just invaded. Is this schizo or dissociation?

we can not tell you whether your problem is dissociative or schizophrenia related, only your own treatment providers can do that. my suggestion is contact your treatment providers and ask them to explain what your diagnosis means for you and what symptoms go with your disorder. |

While I am not a professional, I can share that I don't feel invaded when I dissociate nor would I say that my mind gets filled with thoughts that I know are not my own. So what you experience does not sound like what I experience. I hope that you can get some clarity from your therapist or psychiatrist.

I got here to keep the secret, I read the word schizophrenia, it needs to be negotiated with the alter (s) involved. I would say just follow the part of the journey attention seeking then you will feel multiple over time. It can be very stabilizing, so make sure your not a case of clinical depression if so, drop out of therapy, especially if you working and have a good career. It is not really a good idea to reveal everything because a song tells you too.
Pay attention to your plurals grammar extra (s) and es if you know comma predicates nouns verbs. Crap like this can be good convincers. In this writing she needs to pay attention to words like "mine" also to make safe and negotiate with. |

The experience you've described is interesting. I have bipolar disorder, but I have had what I think is severe derealization since I was a child. Many, many years ago a psychologist suggested that I have DID. I have no doubt that, to some degree, I do. I hear voices, sometimes crowds od people, in my mind. I have told my pdoc and agreed with her that it's mania. But no medication ever changes it, nothing ever has changed it. Deep inside I don't believe that those voices are mania, at all.

Are the voices in your head or from outside your head? A friend of mine was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. It's a junk diagnosis. He is dissociative, bi polar and delusional disorder. We believe his dissociation developed when he was little to protect him from the voices from outside his head. Now as an adult he has two separate worlds that collide causing him to fall deeper into his delusional mind. Unfortunately doctors don't see the DID. But my friend will freely tell you he has a lot of people in his head. All ages and genders. I think DID is a natural part of our mind that goes into overdrive with abuse.

Well put. I agree. Especially if the abuse is followed by years of extreme stress.
