While trying to sort thru... what happenned ... with Therapist disconnect - last week... there was a session..
where it was a "free for all" in the session... with my mind relaxed... I think... all alters came and went... every few seconds.. I don't remember what was said... just extreme feeling of disorientation... nausua... and a band of extreme pressure around my head... Years ago.. i had this all the time in therapy...... So I went home... sat down... and was out like a "light"... woke up about 9:00PM.... and just was so disoriented.. scared.. called T's answering service... they asked my phone number.. and I just could not remember it.... was a total blank... the woman got it off the caller id.. and in speaking to T.. said I don't care what is going on... I really need to see you.. and he saw me on Fri.. the very next day... so do... any of you have that extreme... band of pressure around your head sometimes???? |

oh yes I have the same phenomena... actually... yesterday was one of these times... the pain was so incruciating so I just couldn't make myself relax and go to bed... didn't go asleep until 6 am this morning. I do think it has to do with the fact that I woke up yesterday morning after a bunch of strange haunting dreams... I felt very uncanny all day and the thoughts ran around like crazy in my head... one part of my brain "saying" one thing and the other another thing... I just couldn't shake it.
I'm reading your posts and even if I don't reply to all of them... I care a great deal.... please know you can pm me anytime... I'm learning by reading your words. Hang in there! ![]() |

Quote:
The single most common neurological symptom reported in MPD is headache.

This was taken from a website here , but I just looked and found lots of references. If you do a search, I'm sure you can find heaps of information on it too. ![]() I'm kind of surprised with your 22+ years of therapy for DID that you have not experienced or had a discussion with your therapist about this. So many symptoms that I have, I have had forever and just didn't realize that it wasn't common for everyone. I guess because of that, stuff like that wasn't scary for me. I'm thankful for that. Everything is normal for dissociative disorders. ![]() Hope you are able to get some calmness through knowledge. Good luck with everything. There's healing to be had with knowledge and understanding. ![]()

that was good article - i hadn't read it before either. i especially liked this part:
"SPILLAGE: When alters have disputes between themselves at a subconscious level, or when one is seething because of some anxiety they have, the tension often emerges in the form of headache. In this way, the person who is out may have a migraine without being aware that it is being caused by a stroppy teenager who is figuratively stomping around inside because she is angry about something. Alter selves are also notorious for sending headaches to the front person as a kind of message. This headache can be seen as a kind of acting out. In cases like these, pain-killing medication is of no use, because there is no actual physiological problem - the pain results from emotional disturbance. It is necessary to get the selves talking to you about what is going on for them. If they are willing to do this, there is a better chance they will get their needs met than if they simply radiate wordless feelings and pain. Copyright © Sara Lambert" thanks for posting that
