just after connecting with a great t that could help me with DID and other neurological stuff .. her office calls a few minutes ago and tells me what the cost is....even with unlimited insurance for treatment ...my husband says we cannot afford it..so going to have to cancel my appointment and just go without a t all together.
that is a great loss for us ..not sure what to do now.
very depressed the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss

Oh sweetie I am so sorry.... as there is nothing better than finding a T that knows about and can deal with DID.

Please try and go over your expenses again and see if there is any way what so ever for you to see the T maybe every two weeks, as something is better than nothing in this case and if left untreated it could worsen over the years.

Not trying to pry but can I ask how much is your part of each visit after the insurance pays? - mine was $30 and I still managed to go to T for eight years... and I am better off for it - 15 alters integrated down to one.

That stinks. I'm so sorry. If you're certain you can't go now, maybe you can at least keep the number so when you can afford to go, you will know where to go already? Do you really have to go without a T altogether? Maybe you can go to someone else at least for support until you can go to this one?
Hang in there and keep us posted. the cost is my loss the cost is my loss the cost is my loss

(((((((((((((((((((((((((free))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I am so sorry that finances are keeping you from seeing your t. Have you talked to them about a sliding fee? Some t will do that for people who can't afford to pay full price.

thank you for all your replies they really do make since.
i am hoping maybe the new t will call me and offer me a slide scale ..but so far no. she doesnt handle maoney the hospital affliation she is with does and they are stiff.
the first appointment evaluation is 95 dollars even after insurance and is due at the time of service..and the following appointments are 65 after insurance .. i do not work because of my condition and relay on my husband who just took at 7.8 pay cut to keep his job. .
big blow to our finances. so to him my t is just a luxury we can live without. not that he wants to but we have to cut way back.
i still see my pdoc because of medication.
yea this really hurts because things are happening around me that i cant really handle alone..and my husband ignores me 95 percent of the time when it comes to talking about issues..so no real support. i dont trust or get real close to friends for support either ..it is going to be hard on me to do the day to day thing in weeks to come.
i understand the high cost of medical drs. just wish it wasnt this way.
hurts deep.

I'm so sorry Free. Do you have any county mental health clinics there? They often go by wages so you can get very cheap or free service. Maybe you could have support until you can go to a specialist.
Take care

Be sure to tell your T that your spouse says you can't afford it...don't just call and cancel, ok?

thank you for your replies ... i did ccancel the appointment
i have been depressed since but at least we did not have the expense hanging over our heads.
i have been depressed since because she is the only one that really deals with dissocitive issuse.
i have alot of neurological stuff going on too that she would have been helpful with but .. no need to fret over it anymore since i cant go to her.
my pdoc wants me to talk to my regular doc about going thru conitive testing and some brain scans to check me out. so will do that.
she thinks that there is something going on that we may be missing ..medically.

 And the days go by....
like a strand in the wind
In the web that is my own...
I begin again
Said to my friend, baby...
Nothin' else mattered..
