I don't know about you guys, but change = :Sigh: for me, even if it's good change. I am finally starting to feel better here though and my anxiety level is dropping. :Music 2:

I hope you all were able to make it over here safe and sound and are starting to get used to things now. I kept spacing out so much from the stress that it took me forever to get through the general forum to find out what people were doing to figure out things. oh:

I think this new forum is going to be wonderful for us all, but I understand if any of you are struggling with it. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. We can get through this together.
And we got some extra way cool and fun smilies! :icon_eek: :th_b47a7478: hehe, okay the bag person might become my favorite.

Hope to see the rest of you all soon. Thanks Mods and Admins for helping us all make the move with the least amount of pain possible.

lol, just found out there is a limit to smilies on one post hehe.

I have to say this on is my fave: =)

We are all in this together and with everyone helping each other I think we'll do great. I know I'll help all I can even though I too am learning.

I think when we get used to it we will really like the new forum. Change is just so hard.

I can only imagine, friends. I was a bit nerve-wracking for me and I've used this software before!!!

Take your time and remember that you can't ask too many questions...we're here to help and anxious to help.

One day soon this will be a memory and we'll be saying, "remember when...that was..."

Stay safe and venture out when ready.

Change gives me a tummy ache; it burns. I didn't sleep last night and now I'm all whiney. I hate being whiney; it stinks. It took a long time to finally find out that the login wanted a different name than the one I first started with. Gripe, Gripe, Gripe!!!! I'm techno-challenged and I hate it.

I read something and it triggered me and the weekend with my oh so indifferent spouse was not too fun. It's not all his fault, but he doesn't believe DID exists. Yeah, that 's what I said too.

Sorry for being so fussy today. I just want to run away from home.

No offense, but I totally HATE the "beating a dead horse" icon!!! It makes me upset, I know that's stupid, but I hate it anyway. Even pretend cruelty bothers me.

I'm taking me and my bad attitude away now. Please ignore me and I'll be nice next time I come back.

I'm so sorry it's still such a struggle for you both. Hopefully things will ease up some. I have kind of separated myself from most of the forum for now and only visiting a few forums until I am used to it all. I know change is hard for so many people and I'm so sorry it's hard right now. I hope it will calm down soon and you guys will be able to enjoy your time here.

I too am still getting used to all these buttons!!! Pixies - I too dislike the beating a dead horse icon - reminds me of hurricane katrina and a dead horse hanging in the tree 3 months later... i have NO idea where the dang trigger icon is grrrrrrrrrrrr and some how i have an option with no title..... *exasperated sigh*.

very sorry about the dead horse smiley thing, pixies & Kiya
it has no connotations like that for us, we will be more careful
but we can't see how you can be cruel to a dead horse, you can be disrespectul of it though & we didn't mean that, it is a common saying here, used when trying to change something it is too late to change imagine the derivation would be from colonial times

we are much more disturbed by the fact that we have 2 new smilies that vomit
& the threads are all in a weird order of posts, we don't get it

Oh Zorah - we have that expression too - and i had already seen the icon in the list and gave it a 'ha ha ha yes beating a dead... horse... hmm" response. so your post itself didn't get me. I just wanted the pixies to know they weren't alone in that feeling.
I've been so crabby!!! Grrrrrrrrr I didn't even go anywhere today because of it.
What was i gonna say - oh I like the forums better now that I know we can change the color scheems / "skin". takes the edge off a lil - but changes all the buttons again. *sigh*

Thanks Zorah,

I'm familiar with the idea of beating a dead horse and it has it's place in the kind of dicussions we get into here sometimes. There's just something about the stick and beating on the horse. My pixies aren't sure the horse is dead, they think he just fell down and someone is being cruel to him. Not logical, but I do get it. We just started dealing with the S & M thing some of our abusers forced us to do. It makes my tummy hurt again.

But, I am glad to be here with all of you nice people. I know it will get better. I get frustrated because of things like I can't figure out how to get a cool picture for my avatar on here. My littles are very bummed by that. They want to have a really cool or really pretty picture for us. We like all the neat pictures you all put into your profiles. I gotta go, I think I'm finally sleepy! Hugs nice People!!!!

I was worried that people would use the 'beating a dead horse' pic to get at me beings as I'm a horse sometimes.

I'm not dead!

oh man i thought i was the only one having trouble adjusting to new things! i have stopped using so many forums because they've done a new layout, upgraded the software or something like that, and the whole forum became more heavier...

actually, now even psych central is a lot heavier. it takes ages for my computer to load the pages and sometimes when i'm writing a message the text "freezes".... i desperately need a new computer tho.

at first i thought, heck, i'm going to leave this place, this is too much but after surfing for a while, posting a few posts, i'm starting to kind of get used to it..

you guys.. especially in this forum and the schizophrenia one.. you are very special to me and because of that, i'm going to try and try and try until i become familiar and get used to this new layout. one day it will "feel right". (but isn't it the people that create the atmosphere?)

"but anyway, toto, we're home, and this is my room, and you're all here, and i'm not gonna leave here ever ever again because i love you all"

I haven't had any problems with the horse emoticons but I have problems with the winking one at times, which seems totally silly that I do, but there it is. I do kind of like the vomit ones though lol. :Halo:

I'm so glad you all are here and have stuck it out. I know it's hard and often with parts, it seems like it takes longer sometimes to get used to things- at least it does for me.

I understand what you mean Katie about leaving due to massive changes. I have done that as well. Too much complication in my daily life to add something that feels equally overwhelming sometimes. I really do think this place will get easier to use with time though and so I want to stick it out and I'm really hoping everyone here at PC will as well.

I haven't been able to venture out to all the forums I used to go to yet, but I think with time, that will get easier. It's already easier than it was the first day. The first day, I had to take a long break because the anxiety was just too high. I have to admit that the anxiety is still there, but it has lessened some.

I really like the people here at PC and I think we all have a lot to offer each other. I'm so glad you are all sticking it out even though it's uncomfortable right now. :You-Rock:

yeah - all the moving blinking emoticons drive me nuts while posting or replying. at least on the quick replies, they're not all there BLINKING at me. Makes my system feel chaotic and want to throw the puter out the window.

Pegasus, I agree with katie - you have wings!!! you can fly high above the fray.

I'm not good with change either. I had to redo a lot of stuff, which I hated since I had everything just right, and I had just gotten the hang of the old system.

This does look like it will have a lot more features, but like any change, good or bad, I need time for it to "sink in".

Oh goodness, We do have trouble with the changes, but I'm going to stick it out. I'm still fairly new, but I like you all and feel glad I can come here. There's very few people in the real world that I can communicate with. So weird icons and strange features aside I'm hanging in here. I will just keep coming until I finally get how to do stuff.

Can I fuss for a moment? I keep trying to go to the grocery store and Sam's and I just can't get there. I'm not sure why, but every day I try and every day I mess up and its driving me bonkers!!! What's so darn hard about shopping that my whole system is not functioning??? This is when I get ticked off at myself for being DID. When I can't do a basic job like that I feel too useless for words.

Thanks for letting me get that out of my system and thanks for being nice about the horse icon. Pegs, I would never have thought of you and it if you hadn't mentioned it. You fly very high above poor dead horsie. All of you are so sweet and I hope things settle for you so you feel better. Hugs, Leslie and the Pixies

I am so glad to hear that everyone is hanging in there in spite of the stress it is causing. I really think that given some time we will all come to appreciate the better site this is going to make. I think it is great that everyone is supporting each other on things that are bothering them with the move. ((((((((((((((((((((((((everyone)))))))))))))))))))))))))

I am still messing up so much on the new forum. I can't even get my profile right. I've tried 2 times already and its still blank. I hate machines and technology, I'm a throw-back to old times. Just give me a quill pen, ink and parchment paper....

Oh well, I'll figure it out just when it no longer matters. Sigh...

I am still trying to get used to this. It does have a lot of nice features, but there's stuff on here I don't understand. How do I know if I want to "automatically parse links in text" if I don't know what it means?

Also, I don't know why they had to add a feature that shows everyone whether or not you have any friends. And why they had to create a accept/reject option on friendships.
