just all wrong

LAST WEEK, ON A NO-SLEEP NIGHT I SENT FORWARDS FORWARD. SOMEONE GOT IN MY FACE ABOUT PUTTING HER ADDRESS OUT THERE. I WAS NOT SURE HOW I GOT HER ADDRESS ANYWAY, SO I APOLOGISED AND TOOK HER OFF MY CONTACTS LIST. THE END, NO BIG DEAL.

TODAY, AN OLD FRIEND TACTFULLY EXPLAINED HOW TO BLIND CARBON COPY - WHICH UNFORTUNATELY I BARELY UNDERSTOOD - AND THEN ASKED ME TO NOT LET HER ADDRESS GET OUT THERE AGAIN. I APOLOGISED AND GOT OFF THE EMAIL AND WANTED TO CRY. I FEEL SO STUPID TODAY, SO ANGRY WITH MYSELF FOR BEING HUMAN AGAIN.

MY MOODS ARE UNSTABLE RIGHT NOW, AND I'M NOT BIPOLAR. I JUST FEEL LONELY AND ADRIFT, SUDDENLY HATING MY CARELESSNESS AND MISTAKES. I RUSH INTO SOMETHING AND BLOW IT.

I THINK I WILL GO FIND A CAVE TO LIVE IN. I SUCK.

Please try to not be so hard on yourself. There are lots of things that any one of us doesn't know. And people make mistakes. It would be different if you had done it deliberately but you didn't. It sounds like your friend understood and just requested that from now on you not do so. I hope you are able to give yourself the kindness that you do others. Please take care.

Bah! When I first started using email, my exhusband emailed me something, some mass-mailing pass on or your life will suck thing, and I wrote back ranting that he could waste his time forwarding garbage like this but not once write to his kids---but instead of hitting "reply", I hit "reply to all" so everyone he sent that to got a copy of my not so nice email to him! Boy did I get the nasty emails from his friends! Some thought I had sought out their email just to send to them, some called me names and some told me they didn't want their email "out there" for other people to have. To those folks I wrote back my apologies explaining what happened but one guy wrote again and said that if he gets "spam" it's my fault, blah blah blah. (This is how new to email I was--I wondered why someone would send him a can of spam just because they got his email address!!!). Point is, you're not stupid and you're certainly not the only one to make mistakes. (See how far I've come--one of my jobs is a programmer now for a 9 doctor cardiology office!!) You didn't do anything wrong, and if you find a cave to live in, make sure it has internet connection so you can still talk to us! We would miss you!

I hate that when I make a mistake. I just try and let it go and not try to worry about it, It usually blows over pretty soon. Be nice to yourselves ok? Dont go hide in a cave because I will come searching for you and I hate caves. ((HUG))

I don't understand how to work those carbon copies either, so you're not alone. Glad you're feeling better about your mistake. maybe you could get your friend to explain again . Or it might be explained somewhere online...

LOL I had no idea how sometimes I could see the others and sometimes I couldn't when I got an email.

Thanks for telling me too! I guess some people BCC and others don't . Since it is polite to hide them, I guess I will too from now on.

I'm sorry the person made you out to be a criminal or something ! What a booger. No reason to feel ashamed, most people I know don't BCC and if anyone wanted their address private, they should have asked kindly to do so in the first place. Pfffff.....pahleaze! You didn't do anything wrong.


Besides, don't people have enough email accounts now adays one for junk mail and one for private? Think this is the other persons responsibility, not yours!! I would avoid that person in the future, sounds a bit abusive, and tell him/her in the future to let you know ahead of time.
