Hey Kaika!!

Great question. For me, sometimes I can't keep the bad stuff out and I can't get the good stuff in, so it is a constant battle of will for me to make this happen.

I'm not really sure how I succeed at this, when I am able to, but my system is really good at stepping in and helping me "clean house" if you will.

Sometimes, it's just making an active decision to not let something in or out, and sometimes it is more of a passive thing that I am unaware of.

The active decisions take practice. My T says, the brain is like a muscle...the more you practice with it, the bigger and stronger the muscle will become. Exercise that muscle as much as possible to help you fight against the darkness!!

I don't know how helpful this was, but I thought I'd offer my .2 cents worth.

By the way...I LOVE your new avatar!!

like maybe you can apply what Elysium said to keeping out the bad thoughts
by practicing how to hold onto the good ones..........we tries not to let our mind go back to those dark places

avoidance techniques also work really well for beads, and one way we do this is by concentrating on something else such as beadwork or boo ( sd)

that said, if this stuff keeps surfacing and showing their ugly head as they so offen do, maybe they are trying to tell you something.....they need OUT
meaning maybe you need to find someone safe that you can trust and let some of it out......

hope this helps,

beads
