Well, I keep flipping through things like crazy with this diagnosis. Is it real, are there "others" or am I just crazy? Sometimes I will believe, then at other times I am not quite sure, then at other times I feel as though I must be crazy.
Yes, I lose time and it is quite disconcerting, but it happenes to everyone right? Will I ever make a decision about this and stick with it, or am I doomed to spend life in therapy not knowing what to believe?

Thanks for listening

It will come with time. Everyone with DID doubts the truth sometimes, but that doesn't mean it's not real.

Your others are real. They are there. It's normal to doubt that sometimes, and that's where your therapist and other safe people come in and reassure you.

It will get better with time

Flipping ? Good luck to all of you on your journey...

Hi Fi! Didya read my thread about am I making this up? Twas just the other week about therapy where I asked that very question.

From what I've read on the dx and therapeutic approaches involved it seems like questioning the dx is extremely normal.

Sorry it is confusing right now. You'll most likely go through stages of this and remember to trust your therapist to remind you that you are not crazy and that you are working towards a more cohesive existence.

I think therapeutic support can be vital at certain stages of the disorder. I would have to say it depends on the therapist as a good one can help tremendously while a less than good one can delay healing or worse create secondary traumatization.

Go at the pace that feels right for your system. Keep talkin' here Flipping ?

We all ask that question. My mom had told me when I was younger that crazy people don't ask if they are crazy. I always think of that when I doubt myself.
This diagnosis is real, there are others. Look around, that will let you know that you are not crazy.
