UGHHH I am flipping out

I dyed my hair at home..no patch test....NOW I am not sure if I am itchy or its all in my head cause thats what I feared most..I even had an anxiety attack in the shower lol I know most likely its in my head but ..ugh and I have to worry for 48 hours..I am on Allegra but ....ugh..and I felt like itchy near my one eyebrow and felt..it felt odd so I washed it and my hair aint lighter there but I have 3 bumps..I may have had them before but I am thinking its new...my head is fine so far.....Its almost funny but its..not ....I gotta calm down on this fear ...I find it funny yet I really am freaked too...help

Or NOT do things we know we should??? can you take benedryl? that's something ppl take for allergic reactions... you can always call the hair color hotline...or even poison control if you can't calm down, ok? TC

Lol thanks Sky I am already on Allegra thats a RX antihistamine..I am an idiot but yet still I freak then lol at it cause odds are its in my head but I am so scared ...I dont dare call because they really wont know trust me I have a medical background they will read itching, redness etc and say go to ER lol hahahahah.....but I also know when I am tense.....I itch and all...I have learned NOT to do my hair..I think its too stressful for me...my mind cannot take it...I never had an allergic reaction to hair dye..even at a salon who never tested me..I am just tooo tense..I think by tomorrow I will be ok...I may worry all night but all in all.....I am so anxiety ridden this wa NOT worth it

grrrrrr! ok. well, they can change the formulas to those dyes without telling ya in large print, ya know???? Doesn't the hair dye company have an emergency 800 #? They probably are skilled at calming hysterical women! lol (and south beach guys!) rofl sorry.

If it was going to get really nasty, it would have already. The worst than can happen is you can't breath. Are you sure you got the tint all out? If you're slightly allergic, you'll probably break out in blisters but that's probably all.

Next time take a PATCH TEST!

Hey sleeps I dyed my hair red a few weeks ago and of course I didn't do a test patch either. When it first went on it was purple and I began to freak out, afterwards it was bright red, but now it's calmed down and looks nice! I did feel some slight itching for the first day. I hope you are happy with your new hair color. I'd take some benadryl or something and maybe washing your hair a few times in a row might help get some of the dye out *hugs*

thanks spaz...it didnt say to wash my hair it said rinse and use the conditioner but ummmm ..I may rest better if I do wash it again..It will take forever to dry at 130 am but the bummer is....sigh I itch all over .....off and on.

Red eh my color hardlu took..I am still stawberry blonde which is cool but my roots are darker and thats what I dyed..its not as dark but not good..Talking on the phone the last..hour? helped some a frined called..I wish she would come see me I miss her and she was crying saying she feels so alone and so do I ...but getting her here is not so easy..sigh

BTW, I am no longer flipping out..I made it through the night cause of ((( YOU )))

Ugh, coloring hair is such a messy and annoying procedure. I feel for you, I really do. My hair grows so darned fast, I have to touch up the roots every 3 weeks.

Be careful with washing too much. It strips your scalp of natural oils which protect it. This might make your head itch after coloring even if you're not having an allergic reaction.

And darned that red color....fades so quick, doesn't it?

Thanks GG that funny YET weird thing is I knew it was my mind but that ole anxiety bug got to me....I itched ALL over off and on....thought hahaha my eye was swelling um can you say panic..My hair grows way fast too and yes I fade to blonde..I did go to a salon today to ask what the deal was..I cannot really afford to get it done by a pro...she looked and said it did lighten the roots but I um need a higher something...anyhow she took pity on me and told me a few tips like not to colot color over color to just highlite the area thats darker...then she said call her next week (I think I may look pathetic lol) if they have product left over before she reorders...as she is the manager she will highlight/or low light my hair for free to even it out..and she and I had a good lol at my freaking out over the patch test...

That's great. Sounds like a nice salon to go to.

And boy, that itch once you get the idea in your head....I know that feeling. I used to work in a long term care facility that would go through a scabies outbreak every six months or so (awful, just awful for the residents and the nurses aides!). In the meetings when they would announce it, you could just see everyone begin to start scratching. It was sort of funny if it weren't so darned uncomfortable for the people who actually had the bugs. But once somebody mentioned it, look out. Scratch-city!
