I took mine off and on when I kept getting close to my finding out the truth my wife cheated on me. When I came home to see her (I was in the field training), I had it on still. I continued to wear it here in Iraq until I learned she had lied to me yet again about seeing guys. It is on my dogtag chain and most likely will pawn it when I get back to Japan or the US, as I will with her rings. She does not deserve the rings, bc they repressent something that she didnt work for.

I did the same - off and on while I was in denial about the fact that the cheating was not going to stop. When I realized he's happier with the women (PLURAL) that don't know the real him and that he can just flit from one to the other like a kid in a candy shop I took them off for good. I can't imagine they'd be worth much money, but they don't represent any good memories anymore. Sadly.

Good question...I think I took my ring off about halfway thru the marriage. There was no cheating on either of our parts, just no love. I wasn't looking for another male interest either...the ring just lost its significance.

I took mine off as I drove away. It felt like too big of a monstrous lie to keep wearing. I was ashamed of it.

I can't remember the exact date, but it was very close to the day she decided to end it for good.
She took it off the night she cheated on me. |
