Hi,
I haven't been here in a while so I don't know who remembers me, but I have Anorexia. I'm just not thin. I was recently put on Zyprexa when some events began to occur in my life and I began to eat large volumes of candy all of the sudden. As an Anorexic, this made me very sad and angry. I called up my psychiatrist and am now going off Zyprexa, but do you think my body will ever go back to what it was before? I"m not saying that I was "thin" beforehand, but I was "thinner" at least... just... I'm so sad... I don't know why they put me on this zyprexa in the first place. It did nothing good for me at all and I want to just throw the pills in the trash.

Hey there. I think that your body might go back. I also think that you could MAKE it go back. Excercise and such could help if your body doesn't naturally go back. I hope that came off right and not as offensive. Take care.

Oh of course I'm going to be doing all of that... I'm Anorexic But I've heard that the weight that I put on from the zyprexa is especially hard to lose. Is that true? Or is it just like normal weight and will just go back to normal? Either way it's making me angry...

Hi Bjork,
I understand your concerns regarding the weight gain caused by Zyprexa. You were on Zyprexa for a short period of time and will not have any problem returning to your normal weight. I hope that you are not restricting or over-exercising. I care. Zyprexa... thank god I'm going off

Hey, Bjork, if you post this on the drug questions board, I'll bet you get a couple of good answers there: T_MD and bptoo are great, and they both hang out there. Give them a try.

My guess, since you were on it such a short time, is that your weight will go back to "normal" when your body is rid of the med. But, I don't know much about anything, so don't mind me...

((((((((((((((((( Zyprexa... thank god I'm going offBjork!!chill....)))))))))))))))))

I've been on Zyprexa also; one of the nasty side of some (mostly the strong ones) antipressants cause slowed metabolism, constipation & weight gain Zyprexa... thank god I'm going off I was ana until my PsyDoc on one that I gained 60 lbs in 3 1/2 weeks!

DON'T Worry!! Zyprexa... thank god I'm going offAs soon as it's flushed out of your system (only takes a couple of days depending on how long you were on it) Your body's metabolism, energy level & self-awareness shall return soon! So...breathe!! You'll be dropping those extra lbs. soon enough....just "no fasting!!!" (That will throw your system into massive confusion) Zyprexa... thank god I'm going off

So, "Exhale"...everything will be cool soon enough!

I have the same questions you do about losing weight after going off Zyprexa but I have an additional question which is can one lose weight while on it with exercise and a low-calorie eating plan. I have been taking it on and off for a few years and have gained 30 lbs. while on it and I am at my wits end. My problem is that each time I go off it my anxiety spins off the charts. Just today somebody asked me if I was pregnant (like the 3rd person this school year). I have gone from 150 lbs. to 180 lbs. and am only 5'5". My advice is that if you can go off it, then do it now before you can't live without it (like me). You have been on it for such a short while that it will probably wash out of your system pretty quickly.

(((((((((((((((Zyprexa survivors)))))))))))))))))))))

If you are on Zyprexa forever (?) Just stay away from a lot of high carbs, too much sugar & stay far away from salt...Even w/ moderate exercise, you have to stay hi-fiber, LOTS of water; if you don't you're system WILL slow down and you get weight gain from constipation (IF at this time you have a purging ED w/ laxatives...it DOES NOT WORK....you wind up "bloating" from stored water.

In my Humble Opinion; I submit this to you Zyprexa... thank god I'm going off Zyprexa... thank god I'm going offDAYZEE9

Hey honey. *hug* T_T I've been wondering where you were. (Oh, you do know a little while back someone borrowed your accound to post. I'm too lazy to find it, but yea...)

Change meds. I don't think it's doing what it's supposed to if it's making you gain weight, which will depress you more. Isn't there anti-depressants that don't cause weight gain? Ask your doc about a switch.

*hug* You know, weight don't last forever. It isn't permanant, I promise. :3 You'll get past it.

Someone used my account? Hehe.. Are you sure it wasn't me? I did a bunch "strange" stuff a little while ago (after my last seizure) that I don't remember doing. I'm just now finding out what I did during that time. What did that person say/do?

Dear friends,

I am 26 years old and I am bipolar. Last months due to some changes to my life I got very pressed and my doctor gave me for first time zyprexa, which I took for 1,5 month.
During this I was excerising every day for 2 hours, but still I got some kilos!!
I am off zyprexa for one week now, my apetite is very good now ( I do not want to eat sweets every day and such), and I am following a diet plus exercising.
But I have not lost a kilo yet! Do you know when I will start losing weight finally?

Thank you!

I took zyprexa as well, but I never gained any weight from it, all it did to me was make me sleep all the time, so I never gained weight.
