Well I didn't quite last two days on Atkins diet. I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. I don't want to go back to completely giving in but it looks like I'm done with Atkins. I felt too deprived. I don't want to fall into a depression over this. I just got to try something else now. Any advice would be appreciated. Peace - Dennis

Please don't give up hope--there's always tomorrow.

I think the most effective weight loss method is simply some know how; you must consume less calories than your body metabolizes. If you don't know much about nutrition, this is a good chance to learn.

Take the advice of your signature and proceed one step at a time.

Good luck.

What other diets have you considered? I like the South Beach diet. Also like weight watchers but I found the weekly meeting expensive. Some people find the support worth the cost though.

Hi Yoda,
I am beginning to believe that I would be better off controlling my portions. I eat way more than I should and large amounts at one time. I may just decided to try to control my portions so atleast I won't feel so deprived. Peace - Dennis

Portion control is a superb way to watch your weight. Also balancing the correct amount of proteins / carbs / vegetables and fruit.

Good luck.

I say Go for the portion control, the weight watchers points plan has some excellent tips on what should be the right size portions. Take it day by day, one step at a time. Not every diet plan is for everyone.

Start working on a healthy diet but remember you don't have to be perfect every meal, every day. Leave yourself some room for being human.

No matter what diet you choose consider using the 90/10 method. Follow your diet guidelines closely for 90% of the time and allow yourself treats 10% of the time. That way you have something to look forward to and don't feel deprived.

portion control ALWAYS works for me. its increidble how many calories you can cut out of your diet if you just cut your portion in half. don't ever deprive yourself, but try to stay good.

oh, and another thing that works is ONLY eat when you are HUNGRY and STOP when you are CONTENT. you can eat 20 times a day if youd like, but only eat when you are HUNGRY and stop when you are CONTENT. i loosed 35 pounds doing that. and i ate ***** too!
