Ack! My usual problem is not eating enough or skipping meals to the point that I am almost too weak to stand. But over the past week or so, it has turned completely around, and I cannot stop eating cookies or anything carbs. What is going on? I am seriously worried! Turning into a binge eater

Maybe this is your body's way of getting back at you for not eating properly, and trying to load up with that kind of food in an attempt to gain energy and put some in store for the winter. I too have found recently that it's harder to not eat very much now that winter's drawing in.

Yeah, if you deprive your body of something for long enough, it will try to get you binging to make up for it.

So true...this happened to me too, & my ED T told me exactly what JustBen said. It's very common in anorexics to develop binge eating, which either develops into pure bulimia, or bulimia + anorexia; the latter of which is the worst possible thing that you could do to your body.

Bulimia in itself is defined in the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria as a ED that is present in people who are overweight, normal weight, or gaining weight (not losing weight, or underweight, which would be bulimia combined w/ anorexia).

This is the best time to seek help, or to resolve to overcome your ED...as it gets much worse from here (most ppl either gain lots of weight, or destroy their bodies w/ constant binging-purging & calorie deprivation: electrolyte imbalances, osteoporosis, amenorrhea, rotting teeth, death from low-weight, or "stomach splitting" death from continuous binging-purging, etc).
