I didn't mind turning 30. But I wish my birthday was only every 2 or 3 years now.

Yeah I remember when I was in my late 20 something and the thought of turning 30 was just awful..... but now since I got there (and been there a while) I have realized that 30 something is way much better than being 20 something - no more physical appearance worries (you know the ones that once controlled our existence), and NO MORE stress over dating (finding a husband).

Hang in there it will get better and you will be calmer and wiser......

Yes, I can also agree that I have enjoyed my 30's more than my 20's. But the physical appearance worries? I don't know! They never seem to go away.

Mel - 30's are exciting. Really. Embrace it!

Thirty will seem so young when you are twice + your age! turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! I always said that life begins at 50. I've been "living" for the last 13 yrs. turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!

PS There's absolutely nothing wrong with being conscious of your appearance! There was a song in the 60's by Jack Jones. One of the lines was "wives should be lovers, too." A lover always wants to look good for her man. turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! In fact...

Wives and Lovers

Hey, little girl, comb your hair, fix your make-up, soon he will open the door,
Don't think because there's a ring on your finger, you needn't try any more.
For wives should always be lovers too,
Run to his arms the moment that he comes home to you.
I'm warning you,
Day after day, there are girls at the office and the men will always be men,
Don't stand him up, with your hair still in curlers, you may not see him again.
Wives should always be lovers too,
Run to his arms the moment he comes home to you.
He's almost here, hey, little girl, better wear something pretty,
Something you wear to go to the city,
Dim all the lights, pour the wine, start the music, time to get ready for love.
Time to get ready for love, yes it's time to get ready for love,
It's time to get ready, kick your shoes off, baby....

But that's another story, isn't it? Oh, well... turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! (Shut your mouth, Tomi! turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!)

Awwwww {{{{Mel}}}} Happy Birthday!

I hope you feel better about turning 30 soon. It's really kind of cool because as we age, we definitely get BETTER!

I'm in my 50's now, and I had a pang of pain when I turned 50, but it didn't last long. I'm loving using all I've learned through my life to make it better than ever now. I wouldn't want to be 30 again as in my mind, I'm still 21 turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! (think I always will be too!)

Happy days to you!

Hugssssss

I obsessed about turning 30 the entire year I was 29. By the time I actually turned 30, it was no big deal! LOL

35 and 40 were pretty horrible for awhile, but once you get used to it, it's not so bad. I spent my 30s undoing the damage of my 20s, and so far all 1.9 years of my 40s have been remarkably good. I appreciate the life experience, just wish it hadn't come at such a price.

BTW, for my 30th, my mom got me a card that said, "Admitting you're 30 takes courage. And 5 or 6 years." turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!! Which turned out to be very true for me! Maybe if you just eeeeease into it like that it won't be so bad. turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!

I know, it's a drag. I remember being so confused and bummed out. Here's something to remember, as wacky as it is--Olivia Newton John played Sandy (convincingly and perfectly) in Grease when she was 30.

It's not old. I've read that most women feel their stride at 38, so you have something to look forward to.

That said, Happy Birthday!!

Mel, I doubt you will feel older. Wiser maybe!!

Wow - was Olivia 30 when she performed as Sandy? I never knew that even though I love the movie and the soundtrack.

And you see Petunia. You liked being 38, still going strong at 38- well now there you have it "most women feel their stride at 38," turning 30!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!
