If a person eats for every type of emotion they have and can't help themselves? I mean they eat when they are happy, sad, mad, nervous you name it! I can't control my eating. I keep saying I am going to start a diet on a certain day only to blow it and say ok next week I will start. People are losing faith in me now when I say I am going to start a diet on a certain day. They know I am going to blow it. Even when I say that, I really do mean it with all my heart that I am going to start only to blow it. Is that a eating disorder or just me being lazy?

for one I know that to start a diet, you have to believe in yourself. and you have to have the strength to fight against the will to fight the urge to eat. once you pick a day you have to have the strength to keep to that day. If it helps, you could take all the food out of the house for that day and then just restock with very little but healthy food to start out with. right now that is about all I can think of to say, but I wish you the best. and if you want to keep in touch with me you can send me a private message.

Have faith in yourself! I have faith in you! you can do it if you put your mind to it.

Thanks littleone I guess that just makes me lazy. I really am going to get it down. I set the date to start my diet the 1st of next month. I will do it this time! Does this make for an eating disorder?

I told my daughter and husband that I plan to start my diet on the Dec. 1st. I know they have mixed feelings about whether I will beable to stay on it. I really want to show them this time I can do it, for them and for myself. I am only 5'1'' and weigh 150 pounds so I have alot to lose. I am going to be strong this time and draw on my will power I will be stronger and in charge instead of food being in charge of me.

I was once told that if you can achieve true love in your life you will not have to worry about your weight, because if is like this. When you eat. You make love to your food, savor every bite, eat slowly, enjoy the taste, textures, smells. Surround your environment with things you love that reminds you of love, make love as much as possible.

I know this is a bit bit out of the ordinary and different way of looking at life, but I gave up on diets a long time ago, probably, because I'm so moody, right now I'm on a down cycle becuse I'm full of self -RAGE and just happen to be losing weight over a loss love. However, when I first fell in love with this charmer I got down to 135lb and I weigh a 180lb right now.. Best of love to you both. Leilee

Leilee, sounds like you might have a binge eating disorder if you can't control yourself and eat for reasons other than because you're hungry/nutrition. Check out some of these links:
