Hey all! I've never posted in this part of the forum before but I'm curious. I think I might have some sort of eating disorder but it doesn't fit into anything I've researched. Can anyone help me? Here are my symptoms.

Either eating too much or not enough.
Going up to 52 hours barely eating anything and feeling starving but not caring.
No appetite.
Not liking foods I used to like.
Noticing how much thinner everyone else is than me.
Trying to purge but not getting anything to come up.
Writing poems about weight loss.
Trying to see how long I can go without food.
I always think other people see me eating and say, "There goes the fat girl stuffing her face again."

I am also bipolar and tricked my doc into putting me on a mood stabilizer that I was on before that made me lose weight like crazy. I told him I liked the way it made me feel. Which is true, but it's only part of the reason I wanted it. These feelings have been going on for several months but I've only been on the medication for about 2 1/2 weeks. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Nicole

it does sound like an eating disorder of sorts, i had a lot of similiar thoughts when i had anorexia, but if u don't present w/that, it may be ednos (eating disorder not otherwise specified).

It does sound like an eating disorder to me, too. I can identify with your story quite a bit. I obsess about food & my weight (currently 50 lbs. overweight but was anorexic in college--only drank booze--didn't eat!). My self-esteem is very much tied to my weight so it is very low now. Feel disgusted with self, etc. Seeing a nutritionist & therapist. Am also bp 1 & on anti-psychotic as well as other meds. Work great except fot the weight gain. What anti-pyshcotic made you lose weight?--Suzy
