I know this is wrong, but right now, the only people that I can think of (in my life anyhow) that I would say are beautiful are also really tiny When I look at them I wish that I could be as beautiful as they are, but then that leads me to think that it is only possible if I am their size. And even then likely not.

I'm already pretty small but it doesn't seem like its enough.

Does anyone else find this?

I can understand that. It's like you want to find the easiest way to be like the people you at least physically idolize. It is a risky thing, but it makes sense. Maybe looking up curvy celebrities will help to change your thinking at least a little bit.

Remember, Beauty is how you relate to others, how kind & caring you are. Beauty come through personality, not what one looks like. The most beautiful people can be the most UGLY people to be around.

Size has NOTHING to do with beauty unless you only care to be superficial.

I know I'm wrong in my thoughts, and it's awful for me to even say them outloud. Of course there is more to beauty than physical appearances.... I guess thats just all I can focus on.

It's no wonder because the media has brainwashed us to see only that they shove it in our face continually. People have a natural desire for beauty so the fight is that much harder. Then if you had a grandmother like i had that picked on little details. I fought her constantly because i hated her pettyness...but those who don't fight it get the brainwashing from home on top of the media.

In general i feel better at a lower weight just doing all the activities i enjoy so there is that constant balancing act that is so easy to get unbalanced once weight loss starts.

It is a constant battle just to be in GOOD control of our thoughts & actions

It's one of the curses of having an eating disorder. I don't necessarily think it was the media in my case, as it began happening after I chose recovery. I seldom ever voice my thoughts, but they're most certainly there. It becomes hard to focus on anything else. But there is definitely truth in beauty being all about personality.

Oh YES YES YES! I've never felt small enough, or ''dainty'' enough to be worth anything. Even when I KNEW I was the smallist I could possibilly be so as not to die, it was never enough. I don't think it was only the media that put pressure on me, I did it to myself. I was a swan in elephants clothing from the age of 10 onwards. I was that lump who could only do tap~dancing, for bally just was NOT an option ~ even my mum said that. And.........................so I still struggle 30 years on. That's just the way it is for me.
