I am sorry that you are stuck in this cycle. My t recently told me I have an eating disorder. I dont pretend to understand this as these are not my issues. I get kind of weird about the calories when i think about them, but basically i dont eat all day, so that i can binge all night. Just kind of keep things even. It seems it is one of my alters that is doing all the night time eating.

Anyway, my sister had an eating disorder. Id like to tell you her story if you would like to hear it. It may help if you are open to it. She died Jan 2014. I would hate for you to make the same mistakes she made. If you would like to know more, you can send me a private message.

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling. Its possible I know quite a bit of people with DID and eds from at least one alter if not more or the host. Ive had my eating disorder for 10 years and have come close to dying a couple time. Why I'm not dead beats me. Yeah Ill PM you.

There is always something more serious deep under eating disorders than just body image.....it's sad that they don't focus more on that than trying to cram in our heads that it's just about what we look like....I know that was the treatment I got & there was & is a lot more going on than just wanting to be thin.....there is usually some sort of trauma or abuse or just dysfunctional living that creates the issues in the first place & many times it has more to do with control issues than it does about actual weight.....but when I was told to find an ED treatment center & told them they needed to help me deal with the trauma that triggered it....they said they don't treat that aspect of ED's .....that's what causes most of them....& they think they know so much about how to treat ED's......so much for my rant for the day......hope you are able to get the control for your health I break the cycle.

Rosegirl, It's a cycle I recognise too, like yourself I've been in therapy for years and I seem to hit a brick wall. It doesn't help that over this time, I've had a lot of negativity and judgement from people in MH, these people are supposed to help but this isn't always what happens, then I've had MH staff start a course with me and then appointments get rescheduled or they call in sick. It's not very encouraging.
