Help. I am struggling so bad right now wanting to "stress eat". The only thing keeping me from doing it is there is nothing here at work to eat, except one of the girls at the front desk just told me there is chocolate up there and I had 4 pcs and now I want more. I am so stressed I just want to go to the store and buy some chocolate chip cookie dough and eat that and some chips and dip and eat that and I don't care that it will make me fat except that once I'm done I will feel even more depressed. I know the grounding technique--why are you eating, is it good for you, etc., but this is pure emotion and stress and I don't know if I can beat it!!!

Doesn't matter. The tears have started again, biting my lip, can't eat and cry at the same time, so it doesn't matter. I just hate myself when I get like that.

Distraction can help, what healthy ways can you distract yourself and refocus?

You can do it!! You can beat the thoughts, they are strong but you are stronger!! just keep saying No! But don't forget...sometimes you should just allow yourself to eat...its okay to eat...its a natural thing. But focus your mind on other things if its just because of stress... focus on maybe what you are doing tomorrow or what nice thing you will do for yourself on the weekend to award yourself for not binging out of stress. good luck

knows is hard but people r rithe hear..............u r stronger then the thoughts
much stronger......u can control the thoughts by distracting urself be it something as small as counting certain ( liek a certain color for example) objects in the room...........or if ur home now mybe a hobby or does not remember do have any pets? could enjoy their co. if you do.........point is cantstopcrying anything to get ur mind off of the thoughts that are controlling u until u can get control of them.also have u tried deep breathing? once u have practiced a few times is very helpful.............u can do this!!!!! and remember we r hear 4 u anytime
