I'm avidly trying to lose the medication weight I gained last year (stupid zyprexa) and I know that for me it helps me to lose weight together with people, because we can keep motivating each other.
In July of 2011 I got up to a whopping 175lbs (and I am 5'3", so you can imagine...that's pretty darn hefty). I did very well for about a month and a half and got down to 161lbs. However, I got lazy and then was inpatient again and went back up to 168lbs (my weight last Tuesday when I got out of inpatient). I've been exercising 2 hours a day and have put myself on an extremely rigid diet. As of this morning, I weighed in at 159.04 lbs!!!!!!!!! I'd love to hear what everyone else is trying to do! |

Good for you for staying with it and congratulations on getting closer to your goals! It is difficult to change routines and figuring out what works best, but despite the struggle, it is worth it.
I'm struggling myself right now as I have been sick and my body has changed, I was losing without doing anything and now with treatment, I am gaining again. So unfortunately with my system and diet out of whack, what I am doing would not be helpful. I have to relearn my body and start over as I get well. I have been told by the doc, I can have smaller portions and to exercise again. She did recommend as did the trainer, like before when I was well: low impact, longer duration aerobics like walking or cycling over running, and weight bearing exercises for a metabolism boost. Then if hit a plateau to change up the routine with increasing either duration, weight, or activity. This is what I am starting over with again. I wish you strength and patience as you move further towards your goals. Routing for you!

Depends on the day of the week. Normally I work out for 45 mins in the morning at treatment. I either do some circuit training or go running on the elliptical. Then throughout the week (I have an exercise class every day in addition to my morning workout) ranges between volleyball, yoga, more circuit training, going for a run, weight lifting. That's another 45 mins. Then I go home and jog/run a few miles for the last bit.

Recently I cut back on soda and stopped eating potato chips. It isn't very often that I eat fries anymore. Although I still eat pasta, I don't cook it as much - I make sure it stays firmer, for the lower glycemic index. The other thing I do is buy the higher protein versions in the grocery now. I found that replacing carbs with healthy fats makes me feel less hungry more of the time. I get the same amounts of calories, but I lose belly fat and my weight is going down, like the books promised.
At one point I got stuck. I took the advice from a book called Natural Cures by Kevin Trudeau. I hope I spelled his name right. He said that anyone who has ever taken antibiotics could benefit from getting a bottle of candida cleanse. I did it and dropped ten pounds while I was taking it. The rest of the weight kept coming off after it was done. Now I am no longer overweight, and I am just trying to get closer to my ideal weight. When I started I was obese according to the body mass index. I have lost about forty-five pounds now, and possibly closer to fifty now. Exercise doesn't always do the trick and not all calories are created equal. On my most recent trip to the grocery store I bought some gummy candy supplements for adults - B12 and fiber for weight loss. I have a multivitamin already, but I am considering the candy multivitamins for adults. The fiber is good for when I do indulge in soda or other high sugar / starch foods. Fiber slows down their absorption and it decreases the insulin spike. I was just reading that when insulin levels go up, the body stores fat. It is possible for blood sugar levels to drop without the insulin going away - and this is bad, because fat is still being stored and the body isn't getting enough fuel. Walnuts are great brain food. As a vegetarian, I have added over a pound of them per week to my diet instead of fish. I get them from the baking supplies section and weigh them on my ounce scale to take to work. Recently I bought a bag of dried vegetable chips. I am going to take them to eat during breaks with the walnuts. It is amazing how satisfying they are and it keeps me away from the vending machines. |

Exercise and diet plan is best way to reduce weight. Regular exercise at least 30 min in morning and evening.
