Wow. I attended my first cross fit training session yesterday. The first exercise I have done in about 3 years. It was hectic and I barely managed but the trainer was very kind to me and reduced what I had to do so that I could cope. I know it is just the start but it is no fun exercising when you are fat and wobble all over the place. There were only a few people in the class and nobody was looking at me (including hubby) so I didn't feel too stupid.

Today my thighs are a bit stiff but I will be going again later today. I'm proud of myself.

Phew! Today was hard but I managed much better than yesterday. I am feeling more stiff all over now. The hardest thing for me was the box jumps where you have to jump onto a box with both feet at once. My box is a WHOLE lot lower than everyone elses but I still struggled terribly. Out of the 10 I was supposed to do, I only managed about 4 each time. I have terrible balance so that is scary for me too. My feet ached a whole lot but then again, small feet are not designed to carry so much extra weight. My hips ached too but after some seconds rest, they would be ok again. I musn't expect too much, it's only the beginning.

I was JUST reading an article about CrossFit and how you shouldn't do what everyone else is doing when you first start out! That's true for most exercise--you need to start slow to develop the correct form and learn the moves. I think doing 4 box jumps is great. It's 4 you wouldn't have done last week! You're breaking out of your comfort zone and that's to be admired.

I am easing my way into running and I have been told over and over: go SLOW. I know from experience trying it in the past--doing too much, too soon is too hard and leads to injuries or burnout. You're developing new muscles and settling into a new routine. Good for you!

Great that your exercising but try to take it slow or you are risking injuries. You will get better with time and be surprised at what you can do.

I have had 6 sessions now and this last one was by far my most successful. I am still stiff! We are lucky enough not to be paying for the sessions which is a weight off my shoulders. (No pun intended).

Now to find a sports bra that actually does what it is supposed to do and that actually fits me.
