I gained a lot of weight after being on Zyprexa. I used to weigh 117 and now I'm 190. I'm not on it anymore.

I have trouble trying to lose weight. I can't seem to have motivation to do so. I try to several times, but I end up giving up. How can I be inspired to lose weight?

I still have my clothes from when I was smaller. I kept them because I feel like one day I will lose it...

I'm in the same boat as you. I gained like 65 pounds on Zyprexa. I wish I was never put on that drug. I'm also struggling to lose the weight myself. I just need to start a diet and stick with it. I'm not real into exercising but maybe you can try that along with dieting?? Best of luck to you!
Thanks for this!

Thanks for your response! I wish I could travel back in time and refuse that medication. My new doctor explained how it makes you gain weight. It messes with a chemical in your brain that tells you when you're full. That's why when I was on it I ate so much. I ate 40 Southwestern eggrolls from Chilli's. Lol. My doctor is on a tuna diet and he already lost 46 pounds. I tried that but tuna gets boring. Doctor said to eat less calories and not listen to like low carb diets and stuff like that. One of my friends suggested eating a spoon full of peanut butter as an appetite suppressant. I'm not active period during the day. I just lay around. I think doing more during the day will help along with the diet. I'm going to start today with eating less calories and doing chores around the house. My doctor said I should be able to lose weight quick since im only 20. Also, they offer free personal trainers at the clinic I go to, so that should really help. I know how to lose weight. It's just motivation. I'll do it for a week and quit.

I have quite a bit of weight to lose too, and I'm finding seeing a dietitian helpful. I've lost 20 lbs so far. She helped me set a calorie target and helped me figure out what actual serving sizes are, as opposed to what I'd been eating. I also keep a food log, where I write down everything I eat, and its calories. I review this with my dietitian. I meet with her once a month, which I find is helpful for accountability.

I'm also trying to start exercising by walking, but am having difficulty finding the motivation to get started.

Good luck.

I decided to restart my diet today. I might do the Cize exercise videos. Weigh in will be April 11. Doctor is watching for me to lose weight. He asks about it. That can be my motivation.

You have to push yourself, it's not easy but it's doable. You're going to have days you don't want to do it, but you have to force yourself, you can do it

My boyfriend also has a gym membership, so we should take advantage of that.

I've gained weight with all the meds but today I'm doing my fitness pal to log food. I'm trying to get daily exercise but sometimes it's hard to find the motivation
