Are there any kind of techniques or herbal supplements that would help with anxiety issues? Also something to help control my anger and irritability? I am really against medicine due to the fact that I have seen my mother on all kinds of pills and I refuse to do that. I feel I have really good control over myself but I do have the ability to lose my control and I want to know if anyone knows of things that may help me to feel better without taking a pill. That seems to be the answer for anything and everyting nowadays! Thanks a bunch for all your help!!!

Have you considered therapy? That could help teach you coping skills to better manage your emotions

I take several natural remedies for many reasons. Some for mental clarity and depression symptons, some for sleep and calmness. You have to try things and see how they work for you. You can try one I take called GABA calm. As always do not understimate Omega-3's. Take them if you are not.

This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.

Some herbs I like are chamomile, Valerian, passionflower and lavender as they have relaxing somewhat sedative properties...Valerian probably being the strongest of those.

Then as one person mentioned perhaps therapy, perhaps even yoga/mediation sort of stuff could help.

Thank you for that the therapy I really want to do I just procrastinate because of how much I have to pay even with my insurance. I have thought about yoga/meditation but I have to much chaos at my house with my dogs everytime I try to find a quiet place they follow me and hell I can't even exercise in my house without them annoying me. I will look into the herbs especially the lavender as I used a lavender and vanilla spray at night and that seems to soothe me to want to sleep. THANKS AGAIN!!!!
