I have brain fog from fibro. My pdoc prescribed me Provigil at one point. It's an ADHD med. It helped for awhile, then stopped working after about a year. He said that was common.

Post-it notes and lists are my friends. There are times my planner looks like a paper porcupine I have so much stuck to it. Ah, my planner. It is my bible of where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be doing. If I ever lose it I'm sunk.

It also helps to have a routine. If I do things in the same order every time I do them I don't have to try and remember what to do next. Of course there are the bad days when I have to look at the floor of the shower to see if there are any suds there to remember if I washed my hair.

While it doesn't help with memory I find if I can try to have a sense of humor about it all helps.

Yes. I need routine. When I come in from outside my keys go on the key hook, my sunglasses on the table,my shoes in the basket and my purse in the bedroom. There are times I forget and put my keys down and have to look everywhere.

I have post it notes scattered about so I can write things down....then misplace the notes! I find my Ipad is great for keep appointment as it has reminders.

Mornings are the worse.

I suffer too. I have post it notes up and down my door reminding me about everything from humdrum chores to appointments and errands. Routine too is important.

I try to do puzzles and games like crosswords and sudoku to try to stay sharp.

I know it is my medication but I choose to suffer and not discontinue them. I know what my life is like when I a off them.

A healthy diet.

Removing artificial sweeteners, gluten and such help. Also, you may be lacking certain nutrients.

I rarely have brain fog these days, unless it's from eating something that causes it or extreme fatigue.

Drink plenty of water, and make sure you get enough cholesterol (yup) as the brain is like 70% cholesterol. Eat nuts and seeds.

I notice you are on Citalopram. I am wondering what time of day you take it? I have had to switch to bedtime as I was pretty much out of it when I took it during the day. I also drink lots of water which seems to help.

I've tried taking a couple of nootropic supplements and I think they are working.

I suffer from brain fog quite often and memory problems. You may talk to you pdoc about trying different medications. I seem to do better on Wellbutrin than some of the others. I take ativan for anxiety and I think that is where my memory problems come from, but without them I have panic attacks. I hope it gets better for you, soon!

I also get brain fog. I go from one room to the next wandering around asking myself what I'm supposed to be doing. I always leave my keys in the same place and my debit card because I've lost them both so many times. I use my google calendar for anything important. I have to, it has reminders on so I am very dependent on it. I don't remember lots of things and I wonder if it is brain fog or something else. I do know if I miss my medication for a few hours in the mornings it is much worse. So I know I need to continue taking my meds. I would like to know more about this.

A lot of the time, people are forgetting about things, especially misplacing items, because their mind is thinking about something else.

Although difficult, i have found that if you try to focus on the moment, and no think about all the things you need to do (or whatever) you find yourself focusing on where you left things etc.

Try it if possible, and see how you improve...
Thanks for this!
