Has anyone done psycbotherapy and gotten worse?

I been in psychotherapy for over a year now and I just got worse.
Increased self harm
Increased suicidal thoughts or attempts.
Less confidence

Often times psychotherapy can bring up stuff that is triggering and hard to deal with depending on what you've been through in the past. It's up to the therapist to give you enough coping strategies to cope with it. A year in therapy isn't very long. Please communicate with your therapist and let them know that you need to slow down and need more coping strategies.

I agree with Pegasus, talk to your therapist, and above all, stay with it. Take care.

A second opinion might be needed. Change Therapists if you can.

It's time to change therapists. If your therapist is calling you abusive names such as "manipulative" and other derogatory terms, then find a better therapist.

I once had a therapist that made me feel worse. She was new and had no clue what she was doing. I switched to a more competent therapist and I suddenly felt better.

Certain therapists understand certain mental conditions better than others.
Thanks for this!

Sometimes, if you've been avoiding a trauma, bringing it up will also bring up unresolved problems. However, your therapist should be giving you coping methods and not going too fast that you can't handle it. If they aren't doing the previous then maybe a new one.
