Is there a website where you can post your experience of therapy and see if the therapy was done professional or not? And what was going on.

Was your therapist part of a professional organization? Like the American Psychological Association? You could ring them and they could talk you through how to make a complaint. As for posting about such, the only good place I know is the Psychotherapy forum here.

I too thought you were here in america and was going to suggest you contact the APA or the states clinical board of social workers for what ever state here in america you are in....I would have answered this way because your profile says you are here in america not new zealand...

tip your profile says you are in america so that may be why we are all answering your posts with american ways.... if you put New Zealand in your profile for your location you may get more responses from people in your location and based on the way New Zealand does things.

no your post is showing to anyone who is reading psych central whether they are logged in or not, every one around the world if they come to psych central can read your posts.

I was just pointing out that your location shows on your posts as you being in america. thats why people are giving you suggestions like the APA (which stands for the American Psychiatric Association) if your profile had said new zealand someone might have seen the country you are in and given you the right information or help that you are looking for.

it was only a suggestion that could help you find the help you are looking for here. its your choice if you want people to think you are in america and then give you the wrong help and then tell them later sorry that wont work, because you really are not in america.

but my opinion is that it kind of defeats the purpose of asking for help but then end up getting the wrong help because people believe you are in america when you are not. my suggestion was just a way that might help you to get answers you are looking for, thats all, kind of like I list america and sometimes NYC in my profile so that if I have a problem I want to ask about here, people in america can give me the right info and suggestions that I may need and can use.

its a big world out there and different places do things differently. it always helps to have a general location for the readers and reply'ers to be able to help me.

Who did this therapy and what were their qualifications? Anybody can call themselves a therapist after completing an online course that may have only last three hours. In order to get the professional help you need to determine their qualifications. Pegasus has given you a link to the board of psychologists in NZ.

Each member of PC no matter where they live can see your posts regardless of where you live. I live in Oz.

If you wish to talk about therapy you may wish to have a look at the psychotherapy forum on this site.
Thanks for this!

My therapist was young ... 2 yrs in practice ... impulsive ... and easily offended by things I said or wrote (which was my problem) I had to be HER therapist!

In the end after five session costing a lot ... I got a recommendation to see some meditation videos on the internet and the police knocking at my door.

She released my personal and very confidential emails to her boss, the VP of Behavioral Health and the whole staff. Let the whole world know me. So much for doctor/ patient confidentiality ... there is none

I am now careful about what I say or write to anyone ... My trust issue has now intensified ... as well as my anxiety disorder.

Seeing a therapist left me in a state of disaster
