You list Bipolar followed by Body Dismorphic Disorder so you have completely shunned us. Where the hell is our place? Came here to find something and suddenly you’ve left us out. Congrats. Way to go. You just lost me!!!

It's further down under Personality Place.

They might have split it up between I and II, which i never understood

You literally made a post in the BPD forum. https://mysupportforums.org/borderli...lity-disorder/

It's just easier to have it categorized so there's not a list of 50 forums to choose from on the main page.

It’s not easier. When I go to my homepage I can’t even see any notifications it’s all in one bulk email that shows up a week later. This is the most uselessly confusing website that gaslights its mentally unwell members.

Second, why would anyone name it “Personality Place”? Every other disorder gets its proper name but I’m SUPPOSED to “get” that this douche name personality place is the official substitute for a real disorder of personalities. Way to go. You’ve done nothing but make this confusing to people who already are confused, what an abusive gaslighting situation this is

Why would they do it under a made up name Personality Place? Every other disorder gets its own name and then ours is disrespected with a doughy name that I’m SUPPOSED to get but if I don’t then I’m a stupid outlier. You guys made this impossible and make fun of this disorder. Personality Place? I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN

You can set you "default email notification" to "no email notification", and with that option, your replies show up instantly in your subscribed threads list, which shows up under "my profile".

You set that notification under my profile, edit options, in a single box about a third way down the screen, you cant miss it. You may also want to select the forums you want to look at in the last box on that page. Dont forget to save your changes before exiting.

Between the my profile listing and "new posts", i feel i see what i want and dont see what i dont, like the games threads - they make me nervous!

Hope this helps.
Thanks for this!

You don’t have to freak out because you’d rather scroll through one giant list of many disorders instead of things neatly categorized (eating disorders and to a lesser extent depressive and anxiety disorders are categorized like this as well). If you love the word “disorder,” you can find it on the specific BPD subforum too. If you want to make it even easier, you can bookmark the link that’s been posted and go directly to the borderline personality disorder section.

I agree “personality place” may not be the more descriptive term, but personally I love alliteration so I allow it haha.

Una made a good post on how you can get updates on subscribed threads too.

It helps but makes no sense, it’s not apparent at all in any way shape or form that setting no-email-notifications would automatically make notifications show up.

Something i agree with you on! That WOULD be a brave new world Sarcasm is a hard habit to break, i know from personal experience. Its soooo passive-aggressive. I was afraid to be assertive.

Im sure you will eventually find your own fan club on this site. We start with support and acceptance, but it often ends with caring and LUV. Like they say at AA, keep coming back, it works if you work it.

It makes sense to an old-school computer maintenance programmer. Its badly written but its there. I often said that my job was really mind-reading, trying to figure out what programmers before me intended to do but did incorrectly.

You are right, the choices' logic is hidden from the user. Someone was being "clever" which often ends in disaster in this field. 50 years ago a major (and my favorite) book was "Egoless Programming."

There are actually two separate functions: subscribing to a thread, and getting email notifications about it.

If you're subscribed to a thread in any way, with or without email notifications, it should always show up in your Subscriptions listing.
  • If you choose one of the email options, whenever there are new replies to the thread you'll get an email (the kind you specified) and the thread will move to the top of your Subscriptions list.
  • If you choose "No email notification," the thread will move to the top of your Subscriptions list as always. You just won't get any emails for it.
I haven't been bothering with email notifications, myself, because I'm usually here several times a day and I check my subscription list more often than I check my emails.
Thanks for this!

Thats a good explanation, fooze. The confusion came from using one button to satisfy both needs.

The bad part about reading someone's mind is when I get stuck in there with them and cant find my way back out!
